Explores the profound commitment and trust involved in saying 'Yes' to God, and how this affirmation shapes our faith and daily lives.

Introduction

Welcome, dear brothers and sisters, to this gathering of hearts, united in the love of our Lord. We are here, not by accident, but by divine appointment. The Lord has something to say to us today, something that could change our lives forever - if we let it.

Our theme today is a simple yet profound one: saying 'Yes' to God.

It's easy to utter that word, isn't it? To nod our heads and say 'Yes, Lord, I will follow you.' But when we say 'Yes' to God, we're not just agreeing to a statement or a request. We're giving our assent to the Creator of the Universe, the One who loved us before the foundations of the world. When we say 'Yes' to God, we're affirming our trust in His plan, His purpose, and His provision for our lives.

Charles Spurgeon, the great preacher of old, once said, "Faith goes up the stairs that love has made and looks out of the windows which hope has opened." Isn't that a beautiful image? Our 'Yes' to God is an act of faith, climbing the stairs that His love has built for us, and looking out of the windows of hope He has opened.

Let's read together from 2 Corinthians 1:20,

"For all the promises of God find their YES in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory."

Isn't it marvelous? All of God's promises find their 'Yes' in Him. In Christ, we find the fulfillment of every promise God has made. And it is through Him that we utter our 'Amen', our 'Yes' to God.

But what does it mean to manifest our 'Yes' to God? What motivates us to say 'Yes' to Him? And how do we maintain this 'Yes' in our daily lives? These are the questions we are going to answer today.

Let's bow our heads in prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, we stand in awe of Your love for us. We are humbled by the depth of Your grace and the breadth of Your mercy. As we delve into Your word today, open our hearts to receive Your truth. Help us to understand what it means to say 'Yes' to You, and give us the courage to live out this 'Yes' every day. May Your Spirit guide us, Your love sustain us, and Your truth set us free. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Let’s get started!

Manifesting Your 'Yes'

When we think about the idea of saying 'Yes' to God, it's not just about uttering a word. It's about living a life that reflects that affirmation. It's about our actions, our decisions, our attitudes, and our relationships reflecting that we have indeed said 'Yes' to God. This is what we mean when we talk about manifesting our 'Yes' to God.

The context of our daily lives: When we wake up in the morning, we have a choice. We can choose to live our day according to our own plans and desires, or we can choose to live it according to God's will. When we choose the latter, we're manifesting our 'Yes' to God. We're showing through our actions that we trust in His plan for our day, and we're willing to follow His lead.

How do we know what God's will is?: How do we discern His plan for our day? This is where prayer and the reading of God's word come in. When we spend time in prayer, we're opening up a line of communication with God. We're inviting Him to speak to us, to guide us, and to reveal His will to us. And when we read His word, we're immersing ourselves in His truth, His promises, and His instructions for us.

Being in constant communication with Him: This means not just talking to God, but also listening to Him. It means being still in His presence, quieting our minds, and opening our hearts to hear His voice. It means seeking His guidance in every decision we make, and being willing to follow His lead, even when it's not what we had planned.

Obedience: This is not a popular word in our culture today. We value independence, autonomy, and the freedom to do what we want. But when we say 'Yes' to God, we're saying 'Yes' to His authority over our lives. We're acknowledging that He knows better than we do, and that His ways are higher than our ways. Obedience is not about following a set of rules out of fear or obligation. It's about trusting in God's wisdom and love, and choosing to follow His ways because we believe they are the best for us.

Surrender: This is perhaps the most challenging part of saying 'Yes' to God. It requires us to let go of our own plans, our own desires, and our own understanding. It requires us to trust in God's plan, even when we can't see the whole picture. Surrender is not about giving up or admitting defeat. It's about acknowledging that we don't have all the answers, and that we need God's guidance and direction in our lives.

Love: When we say 'Yes' to God, we're saying 'Yes' to His love. We're choosing to live a life that reflects His love to the world around us. This means loving others as He has loved us, forgiving as He has forgiven us, and serving as He has served us. Love is not just a feeling, but a choice and an action. And when we choose to love as God loves, we're manifesting our 'Yes' to Him in a powerful and tangible way.
