"Today Mothers are being recognized for their dedication and TLC. It's a day of appreciation for making you finish something that couldn’t be done, for standing by you and believing in you, and for getting up in the middle of the night to clean your bottom and to wash your dippers, but,
Mothers are strange creatures and very weird, they have eyes in the back of their heads and they can see through walls and they are known for burning candles at both ends.
Don’t make a mother mad, she will prick you with a needle in church or wash your mouth with soap. Never dare to wiggle your tooth in front of a mother, she will pull it with a rope and slam the door in your face, then, just out of spite she will take your tooth and feed it to a rat and pretend she did you a favor - she would say that the mouse will give money for it. Mothers hates it when you miss school yet they help you play hooky.
Mothers have a sixth sense with a built in lie detector, with which they can read your mind. They can speak to your conscience and work on your emotions without even looking at you, but she can stare right through you; her eyes can pierce your soul and touch your heart and you can hear her voice a thousand miles away. Other kids can hear it too, with a frightened look on their faces they always ask me, what will your mother say?
Mothers are all these things & much, much more.
Mothers are soft-spoken and very good listeners. They shape personalities and introduce us to God They are physicians, psychologists, theologians and visionaries. They are Counselor’s and, disciplinarians and they are the best chefs in the world
But "My mother is the best of all – SORRY!
Mary, the mother of Jesus was just such a mother, she was a very ordinary girl, but she was handpicked by God to be the Mother of His Son
Matt 1:18 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
The angel appeared to Mary, and promised her a child, 34 and she said Mary unto the angel, how shall this be, seeing I know not a man. 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore, that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
I cannot begin to imagine what went through this teenagers head as she were about to become the talk of town, a spectacle and a public disgrace - This would be a scandal of the highest order.
How would my parents react, what would I tell them? “I could be stoned” And Joseph, poor Joseph, what would he think. Who would believe a pregnant young girl claiming to be impregnated by the Holy Spirit? Really now, who would buy into that, no one! And Joseph didn’t either.
But God had it covered: Matt 20:20 while “Joseph” thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost - This was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,21 which being interpreted is, God with us. For he shall save his people from their sins. Isaiah 9:7
Matt 20:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Being used as an instrument for the execution and the fulfilment of Gods Covent promise and His plan of salvation filled her heart with Joy, and excitement. Mary expressed her feelings with a song of praise and adoration. Luke 1:46-50; -54-55.
46 And Mary said,
“My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
54 He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
