Summary: Weak men are the slaves of what happens. Strong men are masters of what happens. Peter of the Bible was one of those men. Let’s see why!

Introduction

Recently, we held a memorial service for the father of one of our Deacons. Everything was going so well until there was one of the most touching, may I say "precious" presentations to honor their Love for their Dad was given.

Pictures were shown which highlited his life and then it happened. The song "Heirloom" was sung. My heart sank! It reminds us of the preciousness of those things we take for granted.

One wouldn’t think that a man as strong, large and firey as Peter was could have his heart melted enough he’d even use the word "Precious..." in his vocabulary. But he did. Five times!

Strange words coming from a fisherman. Yet he uses the word to encourage every believer. Let’s examine it together.
