Summary: Humbling Experiences
Christ spoke about the scribes and the Pharisees (v 1-4) Do what they say, not what they do.
Phylacteries and tassels (v 5)
VIP Seating and titles (v 6, 7)
Don't be called teacher. (v 8)
Don't call anyone father (v 9)
Don't be called leader. (v 10)
Have a servant heart. (v 11)
"Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted." (V 12)
Application / Review / Conclusion
1. Do what they say, not what they do.
2. Have the word in our heart.
3. Give up you seat.
4. Teachers, beware!
5. "Our Father, who art in heaven"
6. Godly leaders are servants.
7. "Humble thyself"
