Genesis 2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

1. “Marriage is instituted by God as a Covenant relationship between one man and one woman”.

“to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.”

1. Living together doesn’t “divorce-proof” your marriage.

The marriage vow is a very, very serious promise with the exception of the pledge of faithfulness

Marriage is not of human origin — and it is not a disposable relationship.

Marriage is not an institution dreamed up in the heart of man

Marriage is the product of of God’s Divine Wisdom.

Romans 7:2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man

Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

2.Marriage Meets the Need of Companionship.

The only thing that God created and said that it was not good was a lonely man “It is not good for man to be alone.

3.Marriage is to be a Committed Relationship
