Summary: At one time or the other we all come to a place of Marah (bitter).but then bitter or better, is really our choice. We cannot choose what comes to us, but we can choose how we respond to it, and that is what determines whether we become bitter or better.
3). THE REMEDY.
And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, [which] when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet:”(v.25).If you have Marah in your life, and want to be healed, then take the case to God in prayer. The people complained to Moses, Moses took the complaint to His Master. It is like the people at the wedding at Cana complained about the lack of wine, Mary took their complaint to Jesus. Prayer is the key. As you have prayer God has a remedy. The remedy is close by,but you will never perceive it till God shows it to you, and he will show it to you when you pray to him.” The lord showed him a tree.” Did you see that? They were standing close to the tree, it had been growing there for years, on purpose by God to be used at the right time. God has a remedy for all our troubles before they happen to us. Look at Hagar, she saw her son almost dying,bt when the lad cried God heard. Bible says “And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.”(Gen.21:19).That which she saw not before, she saw after her heart cry to God was heard, she was not really blind, but it was restrained by the providence of Gd. O happy are those whose eyes are opened by the spirit of Gd.Tho for every trouble there is a remedy. yet you will not discern it unless you go to him. Secondly that remedy for the healing of Marah’s water was a very strange one. why should a tree sweeten the waters? I don’t think so there was any natural power in the tree, tho some may say that there are trees which if cast in the waters can be made sweet. but whatever I know in this case it was supernatural, for there are no trees till today in the wilderness of Shur that would have the effect of sweetening the brackish waters. So I believe. it is teaching us a very vital lesson. You know the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil were eaten by our first parents. and that embittered their lives and ours.bt there is the tree of life, the leaves of which are for the healing of the nations. Blessed is he that partakes of the tree of life. A tree is living, and when the tree is cut, added it sweetens the waters. It was not that the branch was cut, it says the tree was cut off, and cast in to the waters. some say it was rod, Yes call it rod, or staff, or carpenter it is the same word call it the tree. It is my lord and my savior. You call it branch. and the word says.Isa.11:1.there shall come forth a rod, and a branch. He is the tree of life. he is the rod and the staff of Ps.23. The apostle Peter confirms when writing to the Christians of his day - and to us too. Jesus himself, he writes, "bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins, and live for righteousness; for by his wounds you have been healed" (1 Peter 2:24).Unless Jesus comes in you, unless you partake of the word, your bitterness will not leave you. The cross of Christ is the most effective sweetener of life. Taste and see that the lord is good. Look to the cross, and you will be humble, yur hurts will not more hurt you. In your pain, in your hurts look to the cross,by his stripes you are healed, look to him if you have sinned, and you will see that he was wounded for your transgressions and bruised for your iniquites.Beloved what if Marah had not come their way, would they have prayed to Gd?would they have seen the tree of life? would they have tasted of it? If it was not of Adams fall who would have know the mercy of God, and the grace of our lord Jesus Christ? Only in the darkness you can praise the stars in heaven. if there was no darkness, how will the larks sing in the morning?” We glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience.” If Christ had not died, wouldn’t death sting be painful? if Christ had not died for you, would you not die than sleep in the lord?O Marahs’waters have turned sweet, becos of the tree that was cut. Did you come here this morning as Naomi when she returned to her city repenting for the decision she took, and said call me not Naomi but call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.bt she had to eat her own words very soon, for when she dandled on her knee and held in her fond bosom the child of Ruth and Boaz, the joy of her old age, she was glad that the neighbors did not change her name to Mara, and she loved it much, when they addressed her Naomi. Beloved don’t call your self Mara,bt remember the name God has given you.what is your name? My name is Peter, that means God says you rock,my rock.wht is my wife’s name.Jayshree.she has got victory.
