Summary: LIVING A LIFE WITHOUT REALIZING THE CONSEQUENCES
“LIVING IT COOL”
Acts 3:19
“19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord”
INTRO: Life is for many like a roller costal ride. Exciting yet boring; fast but slow; safe but dangerous. Many love it others hate it. But life goes on, with its up’s and down’s and we have to find a way to go forward. As i have been ministering to you, there is always consequences, the results of our steps in life are a must and we have to be sure of the steps we will take. So, life gives us many fast turns and slow turns, will make us cry, laugh, shout and will find those emotions within us that we didn’t know we had. At a certain point - All of us will need a break, a time of relief, on that the Bible describes as “Times of Refreshing may come from the Lord.
I. THE NEED FOR TIMES OF REFRESHING
1. Recognize that we cannot make it on our own
2. Understand that our decisions sometimes are not God’s will
3. Accept that we are His creation and the end result is: Coming back
II. THE REQUIREMENTS FOR REFRESHING
1. Repentance – to change ways
1) A need to not just feel remorse – regret for wrongdoing
2) A need to not just have a battle of consciousness
3) A need to not just justify yourself for your lifestyle
2. Turn to God (Convert)
1) Change your character, functions, beliefs
(1) 2 Cor 5:17 “17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
2) Stop living the sinful way and live the new life
(1) Eph 4:22-24 “22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
3) He will perfect us in our walk with Him
(1) 2 Tim 1:12 “12 That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.”
3. Sins wipe out
1) God will never bring back our history
2) God will never make us feel shameful for our past sins
3) God will give you a fresh start
III. TIME OF REFRESHING
1. Need do realize when we need to stop for those moments of refreshment
2. God doesn’t need you, you need God
1) God will not cease His plans when you stop
3. It will be directly from God himself
1) Don’t make things happen, let God do it
CONCLUSION:
