Living In Good Company

Frances Havergal, the song writer, lived and moved in the Word of God. His Word was her constant companion. On the last day of her life, she asked a friend to read to her the 42nd chapter of Isaiah. When the friend read the sixth verse. “I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee,” Miss Havergal stopped her. She whispered, “Called—held—kept. I can go home on that!” And she did go home on that.

Because she lived in good company She could go home in good company.

The Psalmist knew the joy of good company, when he wrote in Psalms 119: 73-80

1. He Saw The Lord’s Hand: 73-75

a. He not only saw that the Lord had a hand in making him but he also saw that God had a purpose in making him…[73]

b. He saw The Lord’s Hand in motivating him and molding him… [74,75]

2. He Wanted the Lord’s Heart: 76-77

a. He wanted the Lord to show His Love to him…[76]

b. He wanted the Lord to share His love with him…[77]

3. He Needed the Lord’s Help: 78-80

a. He needed the Lord’s help to be successful in the fight…[78]

b. He needed the Lord’s help to be secure in the fellowship…[79]

c. He needed the Lord’s help to be sound in his faith…[80]
