Embracing a lifestyle of thankfulness

Introduction

God expects us to thank Him for His blessings in our lives. This is shown when Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one returned to thank Him. God not only deserves our thanks, but He desires it. We shouldn't limit our thanksgiving to one day in November, but rather live a life of thankfulness. Let's explore why our thanksgiving should be continual, regardless of our circumstances.

I. The World is Watching and Listening

The world pays attention when negative circumstances befall us. They want to see how we react. Our gratitude and joy should not be limited to good times, but should shine through even in difficult situations. Our good works and positive attitude can be a powerful witness to those around us.

II. Satan is Watching and Listening

Satan looks for moments of vulnerability when our suffering has weakened us. He listens for our complaints and accusations against God. When we allow our circumstances to overcome us, our thanksgiving often disappears, giving Satan an opportunity to fuel the fire. We must resist Satan by standing firm in our faith and offering thanks to God, even in the midst of trials.

III. God is Watching and Listening

God is looking for people whose hearts are fully committed to Him, even in the face of adversity. Thanksgiving opens the door to God's power and brings inner freedom. While our circumstances may not immediately change, thanking and praising God will grant us His peace and assurance.

Conclusion

We must possess an attitude of gratitude and live a life of thanks-living. As we give thanks and praise to God, our adverse situations will fade behind the greatness of our God. Let us strive to be true doers of His Word, not just hearers. May God help us to continually offer thanks and live a life of thankfulness.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your goodness and blessings in our lives. Help us to live a life of thanksgiving, regardless of our circumstances. Strengthen us to be a positive witness to the world and resist the schemes of the enemy. Grant us Your peace and assurance as we trust in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
