Summary: What is is that God wants of me? God doesn’t want religion he wants faithfulness.
1/ God’s purpose ... God wants us to live for him.
The law was given so people could demonstrate their faithfulness and love for him. That would over flow into love for other people.
People have turned their back to live for themselves.
Many of these people are religious (Christian even)
They used the law (and it symbols/rituals/practice) and abused them
2/ God doesn’t want religion ... he wants faithfulness
vv. 7-8
Living for self vs. life for God
Don’t boast about how good ... or religious you are
Our acts are a demonstration of our love for God
an overflow from our relationship w/ him.
3/ God’s power transforms
Rom 12:1-2
