Let’s Talk About Jesus

Psalm 77:11-14

1 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

Verse 11 says, “I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old”.

The works of the Lord pertain to the things the Lord has done in one’s life.

These things are to be remembered and accounted.

Sometimes, we as Christians, think of the works of God as a work of yesterday.

What we need to remember is that what God has done, He can do today.

How do we get to the place where we really believe that God still can?

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

If Jesus is the same yesterday, and today, and forever, then how do we come to a place where we realize that God can do something in our lives?

First of all, I need to have an understanding of what faith is.

Hebrews 11:1

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

According to Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

What have you heard this morning?

Have you heard that what has been revealed to you, is a promise as long as you do what the Word says to do.

Deuteronomy 29:29

29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

What has been revealed to you when you read the Word of God?

Luke 4:18-19

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Do you know someone who is poor, how about someone who is broken- hearted?

Do you know someone who is being held captive and needs deliverance?

Do you know someone who is blind or someone who needs liberty in their walks?

The Spirit of the Lord is upon you because Jesus is in you.

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever

Let’s talk about Jesus this morning, what has He done in your lives?

He took me; I was a drunk in a bar, about ready to get a divorce. I was bound to alcohol.

Jesus came to set the captive free and that is what He did in my life, He set me free.

No longer am I in bondage to the bottle, but now I am committed to Jesus.

I am no longer Hell-bound but I am Heaven-bound. Instead of being in bondage to sin, I am now committed to Christ.

I am now not my own, but I am the Property of Jesus Christ.

I am connected from the inside out.

Psalm 77:12

12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

Not only are we to remember what the Lord has done, but we should meditate on it.

And then, at every chance we get, we are to talk about God’s doings, if we talk of God’s doings, then we cannot talk of doubt and unbelief.

God’s Word and His ways are timeless; God is still the same this morning.

1. We need to remember His ancient works and those done personally for us.

2. We need to meditate of His great works.

3. We need to talk of His great works.

We know that Jesus cast demons out of people.

We know that He healed the sick; we know that He did many miraculous feats.

We know that He raised the dead.

We know that He died on the cross for our sins; we know that He overcame death; He overcame Hell and the grave.

We know that Jesus called ordinary men to be His Disciples.

Psalm 77:13

13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

The Sanctuary is a place of worship; it is a place of separation from the world.

Who is so great a God as our God?

Psalm 77:14

14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
