Let It Flow
Scripture Reference: Exodus 4:1-4 (KJV)
Exodus 4:1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. 2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. 3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. 4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
INTRODUCTION
So many people think that they are waiting on God to bless them to start their ministry but in reality God is waiting you
God is waiting on you to use what He has already blessed you with for His glory
You may believe that you are waiting to get everything just how you think that it should be but God wants to use you just like you are
He knows everything about you and He knows what you have need of even before you ask (Matthew 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.)
MAIN BODY
The biggest problem of lacking people of God is that they don’t really need what they are in front of God petitioning for any way
The thing that they are asking for would probably serve as a hindrance more than a help (James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.)
The bible declares and I believe that we have not because we ask amiss
Amiss - Away from the correct or expected course
We stand in the need (or at least we think) of so many things that God already knows will only detour us from His perfect will
Yet we allow these things to hinder us from moving forward in the Lord
God has promised that everything is His and he is just waiting for us to come to Him with all of our needs
He wants to bless us with the desires of our hearts but we insist on being like the beggar and desire crumbs off of the rich man’s table
(Luke 16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.)
We are not even asking for meat we are too busy begging for and desiring to be fed with crumbs
In our scripture for today we see God preparing to use Moses to perform His greatest act of deliverance in the bible (in my opinion)
Yet Moses has reasons to explain to God why it can not be done. As if God did not know what He was doing or had not already considered all things
God is doing the same thing right now in some of our lives with what we have
Though he may not need you to deliver a nation
He may simply need to use you to deliver the family down the street.
You may feel completely useless and unqualified to do the will of God but I can assure you that if he Has sent you then he has qualified you
When Moses allowed God to use the thing that He had in his hand (a rod) and probably carried everyday God turned it into something that brought immediate fear to him
We are carrying things that will demand immediate attention and fear from us if we allow God to convert it for His will
Some of us have been preparing and gathering so long that now we have too much stuff for God to use us
God may be requiring you to get rid of some things before He can use you while you think you need more (Judges 7:2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.)
It is interesting that Moses doubted if the people would believe him before he even talked to them (verse 1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.)
This is just as many of us are doing right now, we are doubting that God can do what He is sending us out to do before we even set out to do it
Where is this doubt in God coming from?
