Summary: We are chosen, children of God, redeemed, forgiven these are all the blessings we find in the text. The Word or our compass share these things with us we can trust the compass.

Let God’s Word be our Compass Ephesians 3:1-14 Sunday

Paul tells us we are such a blessed People because of what God has done

1. The first blessing I came across was I am Chosen

• Chosen may refer to our place and our relationship to God.

• While the Jews referred to themselves as the “chosen people,” now, in Jesus Christ, the circle has widened, the boat is bigger, and the tent has been expanded. We, too, are chosen.

• We were chosen in Christ “to be holy and blameless before him in love” (v. 4). We were chosen to be holy, or morally pure, without blemishes or fault.

2. The second blessing I read is we are not only chosen but Children of God

• Now remember that you are a child of God. Why is this important?

• Do our children with loving parents worry about their future? Do they wonder how they will survive? Do they even bother themselves with these types of adult concerns? No!

• They have complete and utter confidence that their earthly parents will provide for their needs.

• “The Sermon on the Mount.” Jesus says, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ … indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things” (Matthew 6:31-32).

3. The third blessing we are redeemed not just Chosen, not just Children of God, but Redeemed

• Although in ruin because of sin, and although broken and dysfunctional, through Christ we have been made new and usable again. We are the redeemed!

4. The fourth Blessing I found is we are Forgiven

• Everything ugly and unsightly has been blotted out. Our offenses against a holy God have been removed and forgotten

5. I found all these amazing in God’s Holy Word. Let’s let Gods Word be our Compass in 2022

• Always trust the compass. The Word will not lie to you. Trust it, even when your instincts or preferences are suggesting a different path.

• As a traveler and sojourner through life, you want to arrive safely at your destination. Safety is our must important priority, God wants us to arrive safely —

• The Compass you can Consult it frequently. This is a crazy, upside-down, and dangerous world. Boundaries, fault lines, mile posts, and road conditions are always changing. Consult your biblical compass frequently to make certain you are where you should be.

• Always be aware of our True North, or Jesus Christ is our Compass . There is nothing truer than Jesus. If we are following the Son, He is leading us home.

• The apostle Paul Jesus Christ as the center of all things., Jesus Christ is Paul’s True North. Paul has a passion for Jesus, a desire to follow Jesus, He has a great need to be obedient and to know the will of the Lord .

• In Paul’s message to the church, He suggests Remember the compass(The Word) it tells us we are chosen, we are children of God, we are Redeemed, and we are forgiven

6. Finally, in 2022 Trust the Word let it be your compass

• Consult with the Word Dailey

• Let the word determine my steps

• Lets allow Jesus to be the True North

• Let Jesus be in the Center of all we do and think.
