Summary: Would you believe that no matter if people were good or bad, they went to Hades, not hell? Do you think ‘Hell and the Lake of Fire’ are the same. They are not.

Heaven and Hades are places that exist now. Sinners who have died are still there. Those Old Testament saints, who died, existed in Hades, were freed after the resurrection of Christ. My thoughts are that at the return of Jesus their spirits will receive a new resurrection body that will not be subject to pain or illness, and will enter into the New Heaven. Revelation 21:4 promises; He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain. All the old ways are gone.

However, in addition to the Devil, Antichrist, False Prophet, and fallen angels, sinful humans will also find themselves in the Lake of Fire.

Some Bible scholars support that sinners suffer in the Lake of Fire—not for an eternity but for an individually set duration. There are also other theories that say the sinners are punished then destroyed, while other scholarly people advance that after punishment—sinners are forgiven. I am not supporting either view point. Total clarity will prevail once Jesus increases our knowledge. In the mean time, should you wish to consider some of these arguments, https://forbiddentheology.com/what-does-matthew-2546-mean-is-punishment-eternal/ can be pulled up on your computer or smartphone. What I know for sure is; all sin condemns a person to hell unless he or she has accepted our Lord Jesus Christ and our inherited saving grace.

The 'sinful errors' which disqualify a person to enter the gates of heaven are not of such a high bar as you might speculate. Matthew 13:36-40, Then Jesus left the people and went into the house. His followers came to him and said, “Explain to us the meaning of the story about the weeds in the field.” He answered, “The man who planted the good seeds in the field is the Son of Man. The field is the world. The good seeds are the people in God’s kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the Evil One. And the enemy who planted the bad seeds is the Devil. The harvest is the end of time. And the workers who gather are God’s angels. “The weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire. It will be the same at the end of time. Luke 3:9 says, the ax is now ready to cut down the trees. Every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” Revelation 21:8 “But those who are cowards, those who refuse to believe, those who do terrible things, those who kill, those who sin sexually, those who do evil magic, those who worship idols, and those who tell lies—they will all have a place in the lake of burning sulfur, the second death.”

Matthew 5:22 warns us, “But I tell you, don’t be angry with anyone. If you are angry with others, you will be judged. And if you insult someone, you will be judged by the high court. And if you call someone a fool, you will be in danger of the fire of hell.”

As if the sum of all those words were not sufficient, there is the all-inclusive message from Revelation 20:15 “Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the Lake of Fire.”
