Summary: Would you believe that no matter if people were good or bad, they went to Hades, not hell? Do you think ‘Hell and the Lake of Fire’ are the same. They are not.

— Lake of Fire —

You may, as I did for a long time, have had casual thoughts that ‘Hell and the Lake of Fire’ were the same. They are not. Neither is each meant to receive the same class of sinners. Many folks mindfully merge them into one godforsaken penal colony where human sinners are automatically cast, upon dying, among the withering demons where all are damned to an eternity of punishing sufferings and untold agonies. That is not Biblically accurate. Also, would you believe me if I told you that during the Old Testament times that no matter if people were good or bad, they went straight to Hades? Hades and hell are two different places. God created Hades as the temporary realm for both good and evil people who died. Old Testament people referred to the good part of Hades as 'paradise.'

We therefore need to differentiate between these environments, one from the others, and describe, as clearly as possible, their intended, God ordained use, hostile or not.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10, ERV reads: Surely you know that people who do wrong will not get to enjoy God’s kingdom. Don’t be fooled. These are the people who will not get to enjoy his kingdom: those who sin sexually, those who worship idols, those who commit adultery, men who let other men use them for sex or who have sex with other men, those who steal, those who are greedy, those who drink too much, those who abuse others with insults, and those who cheat.

Galatians 5:19-21 says, The wrong things the sinful self does are clear: committing sexual sin, being morally bad, doing all kinds of shameful things, worshiping false gods, taking part in witchcraft, hating people, causing trouble, being jealous, angry or selfish, causing people to argue and divide into separate groups, being filled with envy, getting drunk, having wild parties, and doing other things like this. I warn you now as I warned you before: The people who do these things will not have a part in God’s kingdom.

Corinthians covers a multitude of sins in two brief readings, doesn't it? The sins they spoke of happen every day and night all across the world. But before we traipse through studying the deep, dark depths of 'Hell' or sear our thoughts over 'The Lake of Fire,' I'd like to set aside the fire and brimstone to offer the most significant, rock-solid, eternal promises of from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9-10 relates this warm, comforting passage. If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved. Yes, we believe in Jesus deep in our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we openly say that we believe in him, and so we are saved. John 3:15 says that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 17:3 adds, And this is eternal life: that people can know You, the only true God, and that they can know Jesus Christ, the one you sent.

Whether reading from the Old Testament or the New Testament, God's promises are reinforced throughout. A moderate selection of examples follow: Deuteronomy 33:27, God lives forever. He is your place of safety. His power continues forever! He is protecting you. Psalm 49:15, But God will pay the price to save me from the grave. He will take me to be with him. Selah!

Ecclesiastes 12:7, Your body came from the earth. And when you die, it will return to the earth. But your spirit came from God, and when you die, it will return to him.

Isaiah 60:15, “Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no one went through you, I will make you an eternal excellence, A joy of many generations.

Matthew 19:16, 25, 26, and 29, Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” Yes, I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter God’s kingdom.” The followers were amazed to hear this. They asked, “Then who can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “This is something that people cannot do. But God can do anything.” “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.”

Matthew 25:44-46, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty? When did we see you without a place to stay? Or when did we see you without clothes or sick or in prison? When did we see any of this and not help you? “The king will answer, ‘The truth is, anything you refused to do for any of my people here, you refused to do for me.’ “Then these evil people will go away to be punished forever. But the godly people will go and enjoy eternal life.”

John 5:39, You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. John 6:54 quotes; Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:68, But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. John 10:28, And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

Revelation 2:11 says, “Everyone who hears this should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. Those who win the victory will not be hurt by the second death. Revelation 20:6 promises, “Great blessings belong to those who share in this first resurrection. They are God’s holy people. The second death has no power over them. They will be priests for God and for Christ. They will rule with him for 1000 years.”

Yes, the faithful receive eternal, joyful lives, but Satan, sinners, and fallen angels will each receive their individual, just and equitable punishment. Read the words of warning from Mark chapter 3 and take them to heart. Verse 29 provides this deadly information, “but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation.”

Just in case anyone thinks the Lake of Fire is brimming over a sea of withering humans screaming and crying out—that perception would be wrong on a couple of counts, at least. The Lake of Fire has no occupants at all. Not at this time anyway. The Lake of Fire was specifically created for the Devil and his fallen angels, and will only be a factor after the Millennial Age of the Kingdom of God. This is the glorious age when Jesus Christ reigns on this earth with God’s Elect, the 144,000 first sealed. This age will last exactly 1000 years.

Revelation 19:19-20 reports, Then I saw the beast and the rulers of the earth. Their armies were gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. But the beast was captured, and the false prophet was also captured. He was the one who did the miracles for the beast. He had used these miracles to trick those who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its idol. The false prophet and the beast were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire that burns with sulfur.

Revelation 20:1-3 shares this vision of John's: I saw an angel coming down out of heaven. The angel had the key to the bottomless pit. The angel also held a large chain in his hand. The angel grabbed the dragon, that old snake, also known as the Devil or Satan. The angel tied the dragon with a chain for 1000 years. Then the angel threw the dragon into the bottomless pit and closed it. The angel locked it over the dragon. The angel did this so that the dragon could not trick the people of the earth until the 1000 years were ended. After 1000 years the dragon must be made free for a short time.

Yes, the unchained Satan will freely roam the earth spreading deceit and destruction among the people as ‘the prince of the power of the air’ (Ephesians 2:2). He will make nations believe him, countries called Gog and Magog. Satan will bring them together to wage war against God's people.

This satanic army will crisscross the whole earth. They will arrive at the place where God's people are living. They will stand all around that place. It is the city that God loves. But fire will come down from heaven and it will destroy them all. Because the Devil had caused those people to believe his lies, God will throw him into the Lake of Fire that burns with sulfur. That is the lake where he had already thrown the wild animal and the false prophet. As a result, they will undergo tremendous pains day and night. It will never finish. Those three, Satan, the beast, and the false prophet had been companions in wickedness together; the beast being the first beast that received his power, seat, and authority from the dragon, or Devil; the false prophet being the second beast, or Antichrist in his false-faith capacity, as the beast is Antichrist in his civil power, doing the works of Satan with signs and lying wonders.

In the Pre-Adamic Age, Satan was a striking but prideful angel in heaven. Effectively he was God's right-hand angel. As his self-importance swelled and he decided that he wanted to be lauded like the Son of God and started to look upon himself as equal to Him. Then, at the time of God's plan, all of the fallen angels that left heaven with Satan when he rebelled against God will also be cast into the Lake of Fire. God's justified punishment had been withheld since before the world was created. Thus, the Devil began in him a time of hatred towards Jesus Christ that continues ever since.

So, who is to be sentenced to the Lake of Fire other than Satan and his evil ilk? The “who” according to scriptures are the humans who committed sins while alive (i.e. all of us) and refused to repent or accept Christ by faith. Good or bad, any person who has already died, could now reside in Hades. For sure, the unsaved bad people are dreading the Great White Throne of Judgment, where each will be judged according to their sins. Each one will have a different ‘fate or destiny’ in the Lake of Fire according to their sins and, possibly, their works.

Stop a moment and imagine your feelings if you were waiting for that judgment, after which you know you would inevitably be cast into the Lake of Fire. The remaining question would be the extent of your punishment which may vary from sinner to sinner. A terrible prospect, no? Yes, negative though it may be, the potential suffering could be a motivator to cause us to tell others about Jesus while we still can, and, they still have the chance to believe in Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Revelation 14:6-13 paints these graphic images, Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, that great city is fallen because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”

One might speculate, that in the seven years the Beast is allowed to roam, if one of those followers of evil dies they would go to Hades before being cast into the Lake of Fire because God will utilize that punishing place only after all kneel to be judged at the base of the Great White Throne.

Some people think the location of the Lake of Fire is unknown because it is never specifically disclosed in Scripture. However, there might be a generalized clue in Revelation 14:10. “They will drink the wine of God’s anger. This wine is prepared with all its strength in the cup of God’s anger. They will be tortured with burning sulfur before the holy angels and the Lamb.” Notice the location of the place of eternal torment is described as being in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

That verse could imply one of two locations for the Lake of Fire, the lake could be located in a 'heavenly place' not in our physical realm. Or, the Lake of Fire could be on the New Earth, visible from the New Jerusalem, where the Lamb of God reigns on the throne (Revelation 21-22 and Isaiah 66:17-20). This view might be more likely because the New Jerusalem will house the manifest presence of God. Thus, fulfilling the requirement of the wicked being “tormented in the presence of the Lamb.” Since we know “normal lakes” are surrounded by some sort of containing landmass, it seems logical that there will be some natural boundary around the lake. Regardless of what we think now, all will be revealed in the end.

The Lake of Fire consists of two things, brimstone which feeds the unquenchable fire. John's Revelation chapter 21:6-8: states, The one on the throne said to me, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give free water from the spring of the water of life to anyone who is thirsty. All those who win the victory will receive all this. And I will be their God, and they will be my children. But those who are cowards, those who refuse to believe, those who do terrible things, those who kill, those who sin sexually, those who do evil magic, those who worship idols, and those who tell lies—they will all have a place in the lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Again, crank up your imagination and visualize yourself in a flaming lake of acid where the unbearable burning stench of sulfur almost overpowers the charring pain of the nearly molten flames. Sulfur is a dirty-yellow element that, when ignited, turns into liquid fire. It has a richly deep cobalt blue hue as it burns, not red or yellow shimmering flames. It burns with consuming blue flames. Also, the flame is only visible in the darkness. Oh, by the way, don't be concerned that when sulfur burns, it produces sulfur dioxide, which will turn into sulfurous acid when it comes into contact with the tears of the sinners doomed to the fires. Yes, those fumes would be deadly to the withering humans when they breathe them, but the human folks would soon be dead anyway. Whereas, the Devil and his demons are cursed to suffer forever.

Matthew 10:28, (KJV) instructs, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Take note of the fact that both the soul and body are cast into Hell. Mark 9:43-44 warns all, “If your hand makes you sin, cut it off. It is better for you to lose part of your body and have eternal life than to have two hands and go to hell. There the fire never stops.” This fire is impossible to stamp down, it is inextinguishable. Nothing or no one but Got could put it out.

Don't you find it regrettable that all humanity cannot come to know and love God? Isn't it a shame we have to dwell so long on unpleasant, seemingly terrifying situations? Without doing so, one has a difficult time seeing the magnificent merit of God's Good News delivered through the sacrifice of our innocent Jesus on the cross. Christ endured horrendous shame and pain before offering up His life as payment for our sins. Sins we could never eradicate by our good works or prayers. Hallelujah! Jesus came and died for us with no expectations of reward for doing the Father's work. Without realizing the terribleness of our sins, we cannot comprehend or appreciate what a terrible but glorious event Jesus endured for the sake of our souls.

His death on the cross embraced and eradicated all those punishments we deserved. Through his grace, we have a path to circumvent hell. For God enables us to be saved and to avoid Hell, and the Lake of Fire. Please remember that God does not prefer that anyone would go to Hell or the Lake of Fire. He takes no delight in condemning any of us. For God pleaded this declaration; “I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways!”

No matter how vigorously we pray, promise, pass alms to the poor, or commit good works, we never measure up to the sinless standard required to enter heaven. Without true faith in our Lord Jesus, hell is our dying destination.

Hell is not in or around the Lake of Fire. As mentioned before, nobody is suffering in the Lake of Fire. Yet! The Antichrist will be the first, to be followed by the false prophet and then, 1000 years later, by Satan himself. For these two, the Beast who will be a political leader and the False Prophet will have deceived the world for the seven years leading up to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

It is not until after these events that a great mass of unbelievers will be thrown into the Lake of Fire. Thus, nobody is in the Lake of Fire at the moment. Yet, there are countless dead people currently in the Sea, Death, or Hades. Revelation 20:13 of the New King James Version says, The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. What then are these three? In the strictest meaning applied herein, the Sea, Death, and Hades are abodes holding the dead and will become vacant dwellings.

Death is mentioned more than 400 times in the Bible. In the Old Testament, for sinners, Death was a holding place or penalty initially served in Hades while awaiting a final judgment from the Great White Throne, as in:

Exodus 21:12 “The Law Concerning Violence, “He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death.”

Exodus 21:15 “And he who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.”

Exodus 21:16 “He who kidnaps a man and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, shall surely be put to death.”

Exodus 21:17 “And he who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.”

The word 'death' in the New Testament often relates to the execution of Christ on the cross. It is also mentioned within a promise to the believing faithful, as in John 8:51, Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.” and John 8:52, Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’ And from James 5:20 we read, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way, will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

From Revelation 2:10-11 we learn, “. . . faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” and “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.”

As I understand the overall message, Satan or his minions are going to launch an attack on the Christians. Many of us will be imprisoned and some martyred, but the duration of this fierce attack will last for a limited period. Our Savior, the eternal one who has himself conquered death, will not allow death to confine their souls. Through him, they have victory and eternal life. Sinners face a different outlook.

Moving deeper into Revelation 20:12-15, I saw those who had died, great and small, standing before the throne. Some books were opened. And another book was opened—the book of life. The people were judged by what they had done, which is written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. All these people were judged by what they had done. And Death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This Lake of Fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the Lake of Fire.

When Revelation speaks of Death, and Hades, these are places holding sinners will be destroyed when Christ returns and raises believers. This can also refer to physical death, a grave death if you will? Where the dead people of the Sea, and Death, and Hades will be gathered up and judged. This passage suggests that Hades is temporary and will exist until Jesus returns. After the Great Judgment, when the books are opened, the people of the Seas, Death, and Hades are all swallowed by the Lake of Fire, along with all whose names are not in the Book of Life. Conversely, those whose names are written in the Book of Life, will enjoy the new heaven and earth.

Heaven and Hades are places that exist now. Sinners who have died are still there. Those Old Testament saints, who died, existed in Hades, were freed after the resurrection of Christ. My thoughts are that at the return of Jesus their spirits will receive a new resurrection body that will not be subject to pain or illness, and will enter into the New Heaven. Revelation 21:4 promises; He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain. All the old ways are gone.

However, in addition to the Devil, Antichrist, False Prophet, and fallen angels, sinful humans will also find themselves in the Lake of Fire.

Some Bible scholars support that sinners suffer in the Lake of Fire—not for an eternity but for an individually set duration. There are also other theories that say the sinners are punished then destroyed, while other scholarly people advance that after punishment—sinners are forgiven. I am not supporting either view point. Total clarity will prevail once Jesus increases our knowledge. In the mean time, should you wish to consider some of these arguments, https://forbiddentheology.com/what-does-matthew-2546-mean-is-punishment-eternal/ can be pulled up on your computer or smartphone. What I know for sure is; all sin condemns a person to hell unless he or she has accepted our Lord Jesus Christ and our inherited saving grace.

The 'sinful errors' which disqualify a person to enter the gates of heaven are not of such a high bar as you might speculate. Matthew 13:36-40, Then Jesus left the people and went into the house. His followers came to him and said, “Explain to us the meaning of the story about the weeds in the field.” He answered, “The man who planted the good seeds in the field is the Son of Man. The field is the world. The good seeds are the people in God’s kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the Evil One. And the enemy who planted the bad seeds is the Devil. The harvest is the end of time. And the workers who gather are God’s angels. “The weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire. It will be the same at the end of time. Luke 3:9 says, the ax is now ready to cut down the trees. Every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” Revelation 21:8 “But those who are cowards, those who refuse to believe, those who do terrible things, those who kill, those who sin sexually, those who do evil magic, those who worship idols, and those who tell lies—they will all have a place in the lake of burning sulfur, the second death.”

Matthew 5:22 warns us, “But I tell you, don’t be angry with anyone. If you are angry with others, you will be judged. And if you insult someone, you will be judged by the high court. And if you call someone a fool, you will be in danger of the fire of hell.”

As if the sum of all those words were not sufficient, there is the all-inclusive message from Revelation 20:15 “Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the Lake of Fire.”

The reality of hell and the fiery lake are fates to be avoided. A person without Christ is utterly lost in death and darkness, and we are tasked by Christ himself to take the Holy Gospel to them. God does not want people to die in sin. He sent his one and only Son and His Son sacrificed Himself to offer a path to salvation. “For our sake, he made Him (Jesus) to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” Paul wrote to the believers of Corinth revealing that God besought them to reconcile: “We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20).

Did you know, a simple way to describe Hell is to refer to the words used in the Hebrew and the Greek of the Old and the New Testaments? The Old Testament uses the Hebrew word “Sheol” and the New Testament uses a Greek word, “Hades.” They each refer to the same thing. Until the time of Jesus, Sheol or Hades, was divided into two sections. One portion is what we now identify as 'Hell' and meant to hold the unsaved, the nonbelievers. The other subdivision was where the faithful believers dwelled, who lived and died in Old Testament times up until Christ's resurrection.

Up till Jesus, any genuinely believing Jew would go to the good part of Hades, which is also called 'paradise' or 'Abraham’s bosom.' It was not heaven, but it was a place where those faithful folks were held by God to wait until the time of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Back then, the Jewish People had no understanding of all that the Messiah could or would do. They had no knowledge of the cross, His death, or the impending resurrection of the Savior. But they knew that their Messiah was destined to come, one day. When He actually came and completed this portion of His earthly ministry, only then was it possible for the faithful, who had already died, to receive their spiritual salvation as they were taken from that temporary paradise to Heaven itself. That is where they reside now.

We are required to put our faith in Jesus Christ and in the sacrifice that he made at Calvary's cross. Since the moment of Christ's resurrection, Hell has been populated only by the unsaved. Only the ‘bad’ section remains open for holding the lost souls when people die as unbelievers. Most modern Christianity drops the word “Hades” and just calls it Hell.” That is the “holding area where sinners are waiting for their future judgment at the Great White Throne.

If today's unfaithful died at this moment, they would have to wait, in hell, for at least 1000 years until the Great White Throne Judgment convened. The millennial reign of Jesus Christ on Earth will itself last for 1000 years and that period has not yet begun because we are still in the Church Age of Grace. Some sinners have been in Hell for thousands of years already. We know from the Bible that the people in Hell are fully conscious and awaiting what lies ahead.

The clearest scriptural message pertaining to that is found in Luke 16:22-31. “Later, Lazarus died. The angels took him and placed him in the arms of Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. He was sent to the place of death and was in great pain. He saw Abraham far away with Lazarus in his arms. He called, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to me so that he can dip his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am suffering in this fire!’

But Abraham said, ‘My child, remember when you lived? You had all the good things in life. But Lazarus had nothing but problems. Now he is comforted here, and you are suffering. Also, there is a big pit between you and us. No one can cross over to help you, and no one can come here from there.’

The rich man said, ‘Then please, father Abraham, send Lazarus to my father’s house on earth. I have five brothers. He could warn my brothers so that they will not come to this place of pain.’

But Abraham said, ‘They have the Law of Moses and the writings of the prophets to read; let them learn from that.’

The rich man said, ‘No, father Abraham! But if someone came to them from the dead, then they would decide to change their lives.’

But Abraham said to him, ‘If your brothers won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t listen to someone who comes back from the dead.’”

Some people assume that Jesus was teaching a parable—when He spoke about the rich man and Lazarus. It wasn't a parable, it was Jesus relating a true account, involving real facts of a man who had died. Those now confined in hell are in a dreadful and constant state of torment, fear, and anxiety, combined with extreme regret and bitterness. Can you truly imagine what a torturesome place Hell must be?

Consider their feelings as they waited and still wait for their righteous judgment, which will inescapably cast them into the Lake of Fire. What we do not know—is what the precise degree of their punishment will be. That's a terrible prospect. That should motivate us to dedicate our lives to tell others about Jesus while they still have a chance to have their souls saved.

Remember, until the 1,000-year reign of Christ, no one is in the Lake of Fire but the Antichrist and the False Prophet are headed that way. So where are all the sinners? They, of course, are in hell and dreading the beginning of the 1,000-year phase, when the Great White Throne of Judgment is convened and begins to issue out the final punishments the sinners are deserving.

Other than three early arrivals the Beast, False Prophet, and Devil, the duration of suffering the human sinners will experience may not be everlastingly. Some scholars say, they will either be immediately destroyed, or, endure an undetermined period of suffering. Hence, it could be said, their lot or destiny, their punishment is 'according to their individual works' which will be assessed proportionally according to guilt. Satan and his crew, on the other hand, are guilty of eternal sins therefore, they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The New King James Bibles offer these word of comfort from the closing words of Job chapter 33. “Behold, God works all these things, Twice, in fact, three times with a man, To bring back his soul from the Pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of life. “Give ear, Job, listen to me; Hold your peace, and I will speak. If you have anything to say, answer me; Speak, for I desire to justify you.If not, listen to me; Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.”

The most important, key to the mystery of life after death is revealed in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die" (John 11:25-26).
