As followers of Jesus, we face a daily choice between living for the kingdom of culture or the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God brings love, grace, and hope, while the kingdom of culture often focuses on power and control.

Youth Sermon: Kingdom Collision

Introduction

Today, we're going to talk about a cool story from the Bible that has a lot to do with the choices we make every day. It's about two kingdoms colliding and the tough decisions that come with it. So, let's dive in!

Our story comes from John 18:28-39. It's about Jesus being brought before Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor.

It's about two kingdoms colliding and the tough decisions that come with it.

The Coin Analogy

Now, I want to show you something that'll help us understand this better. I've got a coin here - heads represents God's kingdom, and tails represents the world's culture. When we flip the coin, it's like we're making a choice between the two. But here's the thing - we don't want to leave our choices up to chance. We want to be intentional about choosing God's kingdom.

In the story, Pilate chose the kingdom of Rome, and he condemned Jesus to death. This reminds us that we can't put our faith in the world's culture because it's always changing and can lead to destruction. Instead, we need to put our faith in God's kingdom, which is all about love, grace, and forgiveness.

Application

So, how can we apply this to our lives? Well, every day we face choices between God's kingdom and the world's culture. It could be as simple as choosing to be kind to someone who's been mean to us or standing up for what's right even when it's not popular. When we choose God's kingdom, we're making a difference in the world and showing others what it means to follow Jesus.

Prayer

"God, help us to choose Your kingdom over the world's culture every day. Give us the strength to stand up for what's right and to show Your love and grace to others. Thank You for always being with us and guiding us. Amen."
