DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
TITLE - How Will It All Turn Out
TEXT - Rev. 22 (whole chapter)
INTRO. - This is the last chapter and last message of
the Bible. I want us to look at what we find when we
come to the end of the Bible and the end of the "Bible
Age". How will it all turn out?
I. THERE IS STILL A HEAVEN TO GAIN AND A HELL TO SHUN
Vs. 1-5, 11
There are two destinies and modern science and education
cannot change it. It is a part of the justice and
holiness of God. Which way are you heading?
II. GOD IS STILL USING HIS PEOPLE - vs. 6
"his servants" God has chosen to work on this earth
through his people. Those who accept him, yield to him,
and serve him. God could have done it differently had he
chose but he didn’t. He has always had a faithful few on
fire for him. He wants to use us if we will let him.
*there is a purpose for your life in the will of God.
Real success is to find that purpose and get in on it.
III. JESUS IS COMING SOON - vs. 7, 10, 12, 20
This has been the anticipation of God’s people since
Jesus left the first time.
It is time to wake up, sing up, preach up,
pray up, pay up, stay up, and never
let up, or give up, or back up, or
shut up, until the cause of Christ
in this world is built up because
Jesus is coming soon.
IV. GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL - vs. 13
This is one of the underlying themes of the whole
chapter. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like God is in
control of everything. In times of trouble, temptation,
spiritual decay, sickness, and injustice, it seems Satan
is in control or no one is in control. Remember God is
always on the throne of His universe...
V. PEOPLE ARE STILL BEING SAVED - vs. 14
We live in difficult times. In the last days it will be
as it was in the days of Noah. There will be a great
falling away from the faith and as in Noah’s day, very
few people being saved. Let us not quit, give up, or
slow down. There is a reward for the faithful. Salvation
of the lost is still the burden on the heart of God and
should be the burden on our heart.
VI. SIN IS STILL DESTROYING SOULS - vs. 17
Sin is a part of our old nature. The world, the flesh,
and the devil are always working. It seems the road to
destruction gets wider at the end of time. It seems all
the restraints are being removed.
VII. THE GOSPEL INVITATION IS STILL BEING OFFERED AND
PROCLAIMED - vs. 17
Thank God someone is doing the job! "A few to work, a
few to pray, and a few to receive the crown." What would
have happened if someone had not told you the old, old
story?
VIII. MAN STILL HAS A FREE WILL / A CHOICE - vs. 17, 14
God forces nothing on us. He appeals to our will. He
offers. He never makes us a slave, a zombie, or a robot.
The choice is ours to make. Individually. Alone.
IX. THE BIBLE IS STILL SEEN TO BE TRUE - vs. 10, 18
The Bible is still as trustworthy as it ever was.
As the old poem goes, many hammers have been worn out on
the anvil but the anvil of God’s Word still remains as a
light, a roadmap, a guide, and a helper to those who
would make heaven their home.
