I CHOOSE THE ALTITUDES OF MY ATTITUDES.

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

TEXT: Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Hebrews 10:36 (MSG) But you need to stick it out, staying with God's plan so you'll be there for the promised completion.

Hebrews 10:36 (NLT2) Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

CAN WE UNDERSTAND IT IS A TIME TO CHANGE OUR ATTITUDES? WILL WE LISTEN TO THE PREACHER? OFTEN WE DON’T LIKE THE PREACHER NOT BECAUSE OF HIS PERSONALITY BUT BECAUSE IF HIS MESSAGE. RECEIVE THE MESSAGE MAYBE THE WORDS ARE FROM LOVE, HIS HEART, AND GOD.

It has been a dark day. Seems many things were wrong and there was no quick fix. The people were so touched that the tears were flowing like a river. The Preacher proclaims: WE MUST QUIT CRYING! IT IS TIME TO REACH BY FAITH BEYOND WHERE WE ARE AT AND DREAM AGAIN. A new day is coming, a new hope, a new peace is coming from God.

Nehemiah 8:8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. 9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. 10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. 11 So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.

DID YOU KNOW THERE IS A NEW DAY WHERE WE SHOULD CELEBRATE LIFE. The Preacher said: EAT, CELEBRATE AND SHARE --- GIVE, MAKE BOOTHS--- CAMP OUT AND ENJOY LIFE.

ENJOY THE MOMENT… ATTITUDE WILL HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH YOUR ALTITUDE.

I had a friend that had several children. She had been traveling and was away from home several days. She had left the house so clean. The kids were at school when she returned home. She unlocked the door and wow, there was flour on the floor at the door. She walked a few more steps and sticky honey made a mess with the flour. There were dirty pots and pans laying all around? WHAT A DISASTER? She was so angry and blowing her top in anger.

The oven had chocolate hand prints all over. The mess was a mess. Mom saw something on the counter. There was a little lop sided chocolate cake with sticky icing all over the cake, the dish and the counter. The Mom said I am going to kill them.

The mom saw a little note next to the cake, it was sticky… she read the note: MOMMA, WE HAVE MISSED YOU, AND WE WANTED TO WELCOME YOU HOME. WE GOT UP EARLY THIS MORNING AND MADE YOU A MISSING MOMMA CAKE. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH. The note was signed by the two older kids and a little colored picture from the youngest.

WILL WE FOCUS ON THE MESS? ON THE CAKE? OR THE KIDS THAT LOVE THEIR MOM… MAY GOD CAN MAKE THIS BIG MESS A CELEBRATION. Maybe there is a purpose?

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Seems life has taught me a few lessons that I would love to teach others.

I have found life is so full. We tend to forget many life lessons. One of my 101 lesson is simple. NOTHING IS AS BAD AS IT FIRST SEEMS. I also learned in all things that I face I find JOY but it seems SORROW is hanging around the corner.

** Have you ever learned the lesson: seems Joy can be followed by sorrow? But there is another lesson if we hang on: Somewhere over the rain bow--- pain and sorrow will fade and joy comes again.

** It appears to me that we have choices: I CAN FOCUS ON THE NEGATIVE TRIALS AND HOW HARD THEY CAN BE? Or I can FIND JOY.

**JOY COMES IN THE MORNING, I CAN USE THE NEWS THAT I CHOOSE. It is my choice that will determine the ALTITUDE OF MY ATTITUDES.
