Summary: Using the acrostic R.A.C.E. - Reason, Avenue, Commitment, Expectation
Traveling from one place to another, usually taking a rather long time; a trip: a six-day journey across the desert.

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
RACE

Reason – More than a tour, a visit
– Making a connection

- Run with patience
- Steadfastness, Constancy, Endurance
- Not swerving from a deliberate purpose
Avenue
- Often a broad road
- Way of access
- A channel for pursuing a desired objected
– Plan
– When & How long?
– How much will it cost?
– How will we travel?
– Which way will we go?
God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
- Our vision is often very narrow
Commitment
Just start
Gather a readiness
- Hebrews 12:1 … let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us …
Expectation
- Enjoy the ride
- Look for the expected end

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Reason
- PRIZE
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
