Jingle Bells

Summary: We have been singing ‘Jingle bells’ for too long, let us understand the true meaning of Christmas! Santa Claus, Christmas tree, reindeer, turkey, cake and wine have crowded our life and blurred our vision, let us come off it today.
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord!
John 9:39”And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind."
We have been singing ‘Jingle bells’ for too long, let us understand the true meaning of Christmas! Santa Claus, Christmas tree, reindeer, turkey, cake and wine have crowded our life and blurred our vision, let us come off it today. My friend used to enroll herself in the gym, three months prior to Christmas, so that she would look slim and gorgeous on the Christmas eve dance floor. Wicked parade! Church-goers are no great paradigm of virtue, this is exactly what is happening even inside the church, Christmas becomes a time of flaunting ones clothes and money!
Jesus categorically claimed: ’I have come into this world, that who do not see may see!’ Give Him a shout of praise! He is our lovely, Spiritual eye Surgeon! Wait a minute, only those who accept their spiritual blindness, would be operated without fees, and would receive healing. He is not going to force Himself, at any point of time. Amen.
John chapter nine has some awesome truth embedded in it, Jesus meets a blind man from birth and the Bible says that according to the instructions of Jesus, he went to the pool of Siloam, washed and came back seeing. Can anybody put in words, the feelings of a man blind from birth, who receives his vision by just a wash in a pool? Never! This is too divine! Only our Spiritual Eye Surgeon could do this! The birds, the flowers, the blue sky and the butterfly, he saw for the first time in his life! When the Pharisees were stunned and asked about his healing, look what he replied: "He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see." He had no knowledge of Jesus, only his physical eyes could see now; however, Jesus comes back looking for him and asked: "Do you believe in the Son of God?" He replied: "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" Jesus replied: ‘It’s Me’ and the man answered: LORD I BELIEVE! No questions, no doubts, everything were put to rest! This spiritual awakening in our life deserves the best of celebration! Your life would never be the same after this: you look at the worldly differently, you handle situations differently, you speak differently and you would live differently. Hurray!
When I walked into my bank floor after my salvation experience, I was filled with compassion and love for my colleagues. Though they mocked and criticized me, I went around spreading the Gospel and praying for them. My mom, husband, sisters and my relatives were stunned to see the changes in me. During family gatherings, I would speak about Jesus and weep; this baffled them. I put my foot down against worldly things, including movies, secular unhealthy magazines and many other things. Though a voracious reader, I instantly stopped purchasing the magazines that contradicted with the teachings of Jesus. JESUS FILLED MY LIFE! I had just gone crazy over HIM! I have still not recovered, though. Let me tell you the aftermath of this divine-love-war: my husband - a typical, traditional Christian - got saved, my mom, mom-in-law, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, my friends……the list goes on, got saved. My husband later joined me as full-time servant, to serve the Lord. This is what happens when your blind eyes are opened! Now tell me, are you blind or you feel you are okay? If you humbly accept your spiritual condition, Jesus would open your eyes; otherwise, He would walk away.
If you are feeling lonely and abandoned, the love of Jesus, that reached out to a blind man, would today comfort and embrace you. Just surrender at His Feet! Do not be smugly and obstinately blind, humbly lay your life at the foot of the cross. Your family, career, future and kids are in His Hands; why do you fear? You belong to Him! Got that? GOD BLESS YOU!
