Luke 9:22 (Amplified Bible)

Saying, The Son of Man must suffer many things and be [deliberately] disapproved and repudiated and rejected on the part of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be put to death and on the third day be raised [again].

A. All sacrifices are as good as the first and the second day

"And if it be eaten at all on the third day,"

Leviticus 19:6 (Amplified Bible)

It shall be eaten the same day you offer it and on the day following; and if anything remains until the third day, it shall be burned in the fire.

Third or "shelyshy" in Hebrew meaning:

1. third

2. third part, third day, third story, third part

3. three years old

Leviticus 7:18 (Amplified Bible)

If any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, then the one who brought it shall not be credited with it; it shall not be accepted. It shall be an abomination and an abhorred thing; the one who eats of it shall bear his iniquity and answer for it.

Leviticus 22:23 (Amplified Bible)

For a freewill offering you may offer either a bull or a lamb which has some part too long or too short, but for [the payment of] a vow it shall not be accepted.

Third day is a long time, it's no longer accepted. What's accepted is the first day - a short one, and second day is just right, third day is too long, it's no longer accepted. What do we need to do for sacrifices on the third day? Burn it, because it's already useless.

Example:

Sodom and Gomorrah are already burned to the ground on the third day.

Genesis 22:4 (Amplified Bible)

On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.

Some significance of the "THIRD DAY" on the bible:

1. All offerings and sacrifices must be consumed/offered to the LORD until the second day.

Leviticus 19:6-7 (Amplified Bible)

It shall be eaten the same day you offer it and on the day following; and if anything remains until the third day, it shall be burned in the fire.

If it is eaten at all the third day, it is loathsome; it will not be accepted.

2. Jacob was useful to Laban until the third day.

Genesis 31:22 (Amplified Bible)

But on the third day Laban was told that Jacob had fled.

3. On the third day, the LORD created Earth

Genesis 1:9-13 (Amplified Bible)

And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be collected into one place [of standing], and let the dry land appear. And it was so.

God called the dry land Earth, and the accumulated waters He called Seas. And God saw that this was good (fitting, admirable) and He approved it.
