Summary: Urging men to look to Jesus

No one can go in the wrong direction and reach the right destination. God has made it very plain that the way to the Father is through Christ

If man refuses God way, - what are the alternatives?

One alternative is Alteration Avenue. Travelers on this way say, "I have sinned, but I have turned over a new leaf." This may be good for the present, but what of the past? One needs more than a new leaf. He needs a new life, and with it comes a purging of

past sins and a power to overcome future sins.

Another alternative is Behavior Boulevard. Travelers on this way are busy with trying, not trusting. But God makes the Christian, not man. Being a Christian is something God does for and in a man when that man trusts Christ.

Another alternative is Religion Roadway. The word "religion" means "respect for what is sacred." Travelers on this way are depending on something, not Someone-Christ.

Proverbs 14:12 ‘There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of .”

Proverbs 16:25 “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of .”

Matthew 7:13 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:”

Matthew 7:14" Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Jesus declares himself as “the way.”

I. Jesus is the WAY OUT - Jesus is the ESCAPE

SCAPE

Romans 3:23

All humanity is under the dominion of sin. Eclessaistes 7:20 ‘For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.”

A. Jesus is the way out from sin’s penalty

2 Corinthians 5:21

Romans 6:23

B. Jesus is the way out from sin’s power

II. Jesus is the WAY IN - Jesus is the ENTRANCE

John 10:9

A. Way in to the Father

There are many ways to come to Jesus, but there is only one way to come to the Father.

Jesus was plain, straight-forward, and to the point. He declared that He is the only way to get to heaven, not one of the ways, but the ONLY way.

The Bible says in Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

There is only one guaranteed way to go to heaven, and according to the Scripture, that’s through Jesus Christ.

The Bible is very decisive, and Jesus was very dogmatic. Jesus is the only way to heaven. Only those who have accepted Him as their personal Savior go to heaven. If one does not accept Him as their Savior they will go to hell. Jesus is the only way. The way to heaven is defined as a single way.

B. Way in to the Family

Galatians 3:26 “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

No man is a child of God by creed or conduct but by faith in Christ.

III. Jesus is the WAY THROUGH – JESUS IS THE ENABLEMENT

Trials will come. Tears will come. Testing will come. How will we get through?

Philippians 4:13

A. The Heavenly Strength

The word "strengtheneth" means, "to enable.." We can face whatever life may bring by the power of a living Christ who infuses His strength into our life. It is a heavenly dynamic that is available.

B. The Heavenly Sufficiency

Paul tells us that we can face all things, that we can bear all things because of Christ’s strength in our life. There is absolutely nothing required of us by God that we cannot do in the power of strength of Christ. I can through HIM.

Paul’s secret is available to us. You may be saying, "I can’t face it. I can’t handle it. I can’t go on!" You can’t in your strength, but you can in His strength.

My grace is sufficient for thee.

IV. Jesus is the WAY UP- Jesus is the EXIT

Conclusion:

God has only one thing to meet all man’s need; Jesus. Jesus is all sufficient or He is not sufficient at all.
