JESUS IN THE MIDST

Matthew 18:20

“Where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”

I. THE ATONING ONE

John 19:18 they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.

Romans 5:11 we joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. [AV]

through whom we have now received reconciliation.[NIV]

II. THE SAVING ONE

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

Jonah 2:9 Salvation comes from the LORD."

III. THE COMFORTING ONE

Daniel 3:25 Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. [AV]

Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

IV. THE COMMISSIONING ONE

John 20:19 –21 the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. [AV]

II Corinthians 5:20 we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

V. THE SEARCHING ONE

Revelation 1:13 among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man", dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash round his chest.

Jeremiah17:10 "I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve."

VI. THE BLESSING ONE

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them

I John 1:3 our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
