Matthew 28:9 (AV)
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
- Their experience what they have seen & heard
- Catch the feeling of 3 days of mourning
- Closest they got to a funeral service was a borrowed tomb
- Sorrow, Confusion, Lost, Helpless, Fear
The first words of Jesus publicly speaking are ‘repent’,

- Now some Bibles translate this word ‘Greetings’. NIV, ESV, NET
- Others read ”Good morning” – TLB, Mesg, HCSB
- Gk word χαίρω [chairo /khah•ee•ro/] translated ‘rejoice’ 42
- Hail 5x
- “Greeting” 3x “All hail” 1x
- I see that when we first meet people it’s “Good morning” or when we answer the phone “Hello”
- Here it is “REJOICE”
- The overwhelming use of the word meant to rejoice exceedingly and be glad. Imagine that.
- The first time they see Jesus after the Cross and He says one word – rejoice.
