A. Sin of Jeroboam: idolatry (1 Kings 12:30)

1. Jeroboam - official of King Solomon, rebelled to become first king of Israel. (1 Kings 11:26)

Another rebel leader was Jeroboam son of Nebat, one of Solomon’s own officials. He came from the town of Zeredah in Ephraim, and his mother was Zeruah, a widow.

B. Why did he rebeled?

Is there a problem with being young? yes, there is in the administration level, old man have experiences while young man can only boast of their strength. It's enough for Jeroboam to gain more experiences. If they will not live wisely according to GOD's Words, then they could be tempted to give in to the sins of youth, because being young comes also temptations.
