It is Well

When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrow like sea billows roll, whatever my lot Thou, hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul.

Christ paints two pictures in this passage. One picture is of extreme weariness. This is the person who has gone as far as he can, he can go no father-he cannot take another step. The other picture is of extreme pressure. This is the person who is about to explode, he cannot take anymore. Christ does not say what caused the weariness or pressure. It does not matter, for his invitation is open to all. It is a simple invitation, requiring so little and offering so much.

Come unto me. These are the words of Jesus letting us know that as long as I come to him everything will be alright. The message is to come if you are weary and burdened the person who is laboring and heavy laden, weary and burdened, exhausted and despariring, extremely tired and weighed down, ready to stop and collapse.

Come if you are being overburdened with too much to do , come if worldliness and carnality sin and guilt money & material posessions has taken over your life. Come no matter what your situation is come to Jesus and he will work it out for you. I love to sing this song it says, Glory, Glory, Halleljah since I laid my burdens down I feel better so much better since I laid my burdens down, friends don t treat me like they used to since I laid my burdens down.

Look at your neighbor and tell them as long as I come to Jesus and stay with him It is well. Now shake three people hands and tell them It is well.

Jesus said take my yoke upon you and learn of me for i am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your soul. The yoke of Jesus is to walk in line with his word. To walk a clean and holy life, doing the thing that are pleasing in his eyesight. It not hard at all to live holy. Jesus said my yoke is easy. When it become hard to live a saved lifestyle because we don t want to submitt the the yoke of Christ but when we do we can say It is well with my soul.
