Summary: Jesus can do anything where there is faith!

Is There a healer in the House Text:Jeremiah 8: 20-22

20The harvest is past, the summer has ended and the gathering of fruit is over, yet we are not saved! [Comes again the voice of the people.] 21For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I [Jeremiah] hurt; I go around mourning; dismay has taken hold on me. 22Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people restored? [Because Zion no longer enjoyed the presence of the Great Physician!]

Introduction: When reading this whole chapter and keeping it in context, Jeremiah seems to be a man that is very frustrated. He knows that the Lord can do anything and everything, but Jerusalem fails to believe! It’s kind of like knowing what a newborn baby needs, but he or she refuses the remedy! People through time have refused to believe that Jesus Christ is all they really needed. These people wouldn’t accept the laws of God; therefore, when a people deny God’s law they also refuse God’s love.

I.In this chapter God gives His people the same kind of medicine they have been sowing. Fruitless trees, medicine that won’t heal, they will lie among the fallen, Families will be lost, and given to others, God even say’s “ He will visit them with death!”

A.Why? Because of unbelief, and unbelief breeds sin! Remember, “whatever is not born of God is sin!

B.Jeremiah 8:20 The harvest is past, the summer has ended and the gathering of fruit is over, yet we are not saved! [comes again the voice of the people.]

C.Instead of turning to God these unbroken and unrepentant people continued to live hopeless, indifferent and frustrated! (People who continue to turn their backs on God just become angry and bitter!)

D.The Lord placed three ways in which we can become guilty of blaming God and not receiving your break through. #1. We decide we will just desire God on our terms!

E.Jesus said in John 4: 34-35 Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work. 35Do you not say, it is still four months until harvest time comes? Look! I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields and see how they are already white for harvesting.

F.Jesus is saying, “ Just receive Me, and what I desire to do, now!” Don’t say, “latter!” Take Jesus on His terms. Now! He a very present help in the time of trouble!

G.#2. The people wanted to live by the flesh, but be very fruitful! Say, not! April through June is planting season, but these people didn’t plant anything!

H.What are you planting? Faith, love, prayer! Jenny said, that Judy Jacobs said to stay away from people who start sentences off with “ Well… or I don’t know…!”

I.#3 These people wanted faith, “sometimes!” Hebrews 10: 32 say’s the just shall live by faith! Jeremiah 8: 22 Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people restored? [Because Zion no longer enjoyed the presence of the Great Physician!]

J.Faith, sometimes, will always create mountains that you will need to speak to! Faith in God always, will remove mountains! Mark 11:22-23 And Jesus, replying, said to them, have faith in God [constantly]. 23). Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the sea! And does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.
