Summary: 5 affirmations that we are allowing Jesus to be Lord of our lives.

IS HE LORD?—Luke 6:46-49

Jesus disclosed to His followers the importance of maintaining His lordship.

The personal application of Jesus’ lordship is of pivotal importance

Jesus must be Lord of our lives.

How can we personally experience Jesus as Lord of our life?

5 affirmations of Jesus’ lordship.

1—Jesus’ lordship is experienced thru

MARRIAGE(:46)

—Explanation:(:46)

“And why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ & do not do what I say?”

Faith meets works.

Not once a week recognition

But continual living.

“Lord, Lord”—

Mat. 7:21—“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.”

“Do not do”—

Gal. 6:7—“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.”

Mat. 21:28-31—““But what do you think? A man had two sons, & he came to the first & said, ‘Son, go work today in the vineyard.’ “And he answered & said, ‘I will, sir’; & he did not go. “And he came to the second & said the same thing. But he answered & said, ‘I will not’; yet he afterward regretted it & went. “Which of the two did the will of his father?” They *said, “The latter.” Jesus *said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax-gatherers & harlots will get into the kingdom of God before you.”

“What I say”—

Jn. 1:1-3—“In the beginning was the Word, & the Word was with God, & the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, & apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”

Rev. 19:13—“And He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; & His name is called The Word of God.”

—Argumentation:

Js. 2:14-26—READ—:17, 22, 26—“Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.”... “You see that faith was working with his[Abraham’s] works, & as a result of the works, faith was perfected;”....“For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.”

Mat. 7:21-22—“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, & in Your name cast out demons, & in Your name perform many miracles?’”

“Everyone/Whosoever”—

Jn. 1:12-13—“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Contingent—All have equal opportunity to choose either.

AMBITION(:48)

—Explanation:(:48) Drive/Desire/Intention

“...he is like a man building a house, who dug deep & laid a foundation upon the rock; & when a flood rose, the torrent burst against that house & could not shake it, because it had been well built.”

“Building a house”—Dwelling/Living place

1Cor. 3:12-13—“Now if any man builds upon the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it, because it is to be revealed with fire; & the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work.”

“Dug Deep”—Sought substance. If you can dig thru it(destroy it), its not worthy of your trust.

“Laid a Foundation upon the Rock”—Unmovable/Substantive

—Argumentation:

Isa. 55:6—“Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.”

2Chron. 15:2—Prophet Azariah to king Asa“...the LORD is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.”
