LIONS kill on the average of 200 people annually. HIPPOS on average kill 500. ELEPHANTS kill 600. CROCS kill 1,000. SCORPIONS kill 3,300. The ASSISIN BUG kills 10,000. DOGS kill 59,000 on average. SNAKES kill 138,000. HUMANS kill 400,000 world wide. MOSQUITOES kill 700,000. IS IT AMAZING THE LITTLE MOSQUITOES ARE THE DEADLIEST KILLERS?

WHAT KILLS OUR JOY AND PEACE?

We often face situations that make us feel irritated. WE MUST ARISE ABOVE IRRITATION BY THE POWER 0F THE HOLY SPIRIT.

IRRITATION. HOW IS A PEARL FORMED?

We understand that PEARLS ARE FORMED BECAUSE THERE IS AN IRRITANT. Pearls are products of irritation. There is an irritant that gets into the oyster shell. Layer by layer the oyster protects itself from the irritant by secreting a substance that covers the irritation and thus a PEARL is formed. We understand THAT IF THERE HAD BEEN NO IRRITATING INTERUPTION INTO THE OYSTER SHELL, THERE WOULD NEVER BE A PEARL

While Hannah was upset and irritated: SHE KNEW HOW TO PRAY. God heard and answered her prayer and gave her A SON NAMED SAMUEL.

TALK ABOUT IRRITANTS, FEAR AND WORRY PARALYZE GOD’S PEOPLE.

COURAGE DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THE ABSENCE OF FEAR. COURAGE DURING THE STORM MEANS I AM GOING TO OPERATE IN FAITH. IN THE VALLEY OF ELAH GOD DOES HIS BEST WORK FOR ISRAEL OPERATING IN FEAR.

FAITH WILL ALWAYS OVERCOME FEAR. FEAR CAN PARALYZE A WHOLE ARMY. DO WE UNDERSTAND PHSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE? WE ARE LOSERS. WE CAN NEVER WIN. THE ENEMY IS GREATER THAN WE ARE. GOLIATH MOCKS AND HAUNTS GOD’S PEOPLE.

GOLIATH WAS AN IRRITATING FACTOR TO THE NATION OF ISRAEL.

Goliath was very intimitating and he had a loud mouth. Not only did he brag of his championship he also bragged about his experience as a warrior. GOLIATH WAS BETWEEN 9 TO 10 FEET TALL. He had a bronze helmet. Goliath’s coat weighed around 125 pounds. Goliath’s spear head was around 25 pounds.

1 Samuel 17:11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.

WHEN THE IRRITANT RE-INFORCES HIMSELF 80 TIMES., GOD NEEDS NEW BLOOD TO ARISE.

1 Samuel 17:16 And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.

1 Samuel 17:24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.

DAVID WAS A NO BODY. DAVID WASN’T EVEN A TRAINED SOLDIER.

David was not old enough to serve in the army. David was the youngest of 8 sons. LIFE CAN GET SO IRRITATING. THE ROLE OF A SHEPHERD IS NOT GOOD. DO WE UNDERSTAND THE ROLE OF AN UNDERDOG. DO WE UNDERSTAND THE ROLE OF GOLIATH --- HE IS AN IRRITANT.

DAVID CAN NOT ALLOW FEAR TO IRRITATE HIS SPIRIT. DAVID HAS TO WALK BY FAITH. DAVID ‘S FAITH GETS HIM TO MOVE IN GREAT COURAGE WHEN ALL THE OTHERS ARE CRYING IN THEIR TENTS.

GOD HAD PREPARED DAVID --- DAVID FACED IRRITANTS BEFORE.

1 Samuel 17:34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:

1 Samuel 17:37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

DAVID IS NOT ON THE BATTLE FIELD AS A SOLDIER. David is carrying food, bread and cheese to his brothers and their commanders. DAVID MOVES IN FAITH AS HE PICKS UP 5 SMOOTH STONES.
