"In The Tops Of The Mulberry Trees..." By Dr. Winson Butler

Summary: It is not the man with a motive but the man with a purpose who prevails. David is our classic example. Let’s examine it together!
Introduction
Everyone has met the character David. Who can forget him. Young, innocent, brave and of course handsome to a fault...but not without them!
All of us do. Have faults that is. David was no exception. He who was after God’s own heart often times let his own heart get in his way.
The story of David’s battle with the Philistines is not a new one. It seems that he was always fighting with them. Winning some and yes, losing some. As long as God was on his side he won. Outside of that, it’s a different story.
That’s the way it with us. My advice is, when you find yourself in the midst of a battle (use your imagination), don’t always count on, depend on, the usual, the same old same old. God specializes in the unusual to accomplish the impossible!
David is our best example!
