Introduction: I’ve heard it said that being an adult is part figuring out why you walked in a room, part figuring out why your back hurts, and part wondering why you’re tired all the time!

I. Tired of Hypocrisy

a. People who call themselves “Christians” supporting infanticide, sexual abomination, unmarried co-habitation, acceptance of alcohol, marijuana, & drugs, basic un-holiness in public

i. and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. (Romans 1:32 NASB)

b. People who call themselves “Christians” only warming a pew on Sunday morning; not participating in the ministry of the God’s Church and complaining about people who aren’t perfect and using that as an excuse to not do anything

c. People who call themselves “Christians” holding grudges and refusing to forgive.

i. 'You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD. (Leviticus 19:18 NASB)

ii. "For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. "But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. (Matthew 6:14-15 NASB)

II. Tired of People Being Mean

a. "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:35 NASB)

b. People beating other people up or name-calling over political differences

c. People hating each other because they are different, whether it be racism, religion, or sexuality

d. People ignoring people who are in genuine need and people who are not in genuine need taking advantage of people who are overly-generous

e. What happened to the “Golden Rule?”

i. "In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12 NASB)

III. Tired of Feeling Defeated

a. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8:37 ESV)

b. My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalms 73:26 NASB)

c. in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. (Ephesians 6:16 NASB)

Application/Invitation: Are you tired?

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. (Isaiah 40:28-31 NASB)

But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NASB)

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30 NASB)
