Youth Sermon: If You Know Me

Introduction

Hey guys, today we're going to talk about something super important - knowing Jesus. Not just knowing about Him, but really knowing Him, like you know your best friend.

When we truly know Jesus, we understand more about God, the Holy Spirit, and the Kingdom of Heaven. So, let's dive in and see what this means for us.

Knowing Jesus is knowing life.

Jesus is the Way

First, let's check out John 14:1-14. In this passage, Jesus is talking to His disciples, and He tells them that if they really know Him, they'll know some amazing truths about salvation, God the Father, and living an empowered life.

Now, I want to show you something cool. (Bring out a puzzle with a missing piece.) This puzzle is almost complete, but there's one piece missing. Without that piece, the puzzle isn't whole. That's kind of like our lives without Jesus. We might have a lot of good things going on, but without Jesus, we're not complete.

Jesus tells His disciples that He is "the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one can come to the Father except through Him." This means that Jesus is the only path to God and eternal life. It's like He's the missing puzzle piece that completes our lives.

Jesus Reveals the Father

When we know Jesus, we also know God the Father. Jesus is the perfect representation of God on earth, and by studying His life and teachings, we can come to know the Father more deeply. It's like Jesus is showing us the big picture of the puzzle, helping us understand how everything fits together.

Jesus Empowers Us

Jesus tells His disciples that they will do even greater works than He did because He is going to the Father on their behalf. This means that when we know Jesus, we have incredible power to do amazing things in His name. It's like we're given superpowers to help complete the puzzle of life.

Conclusion

So, what does this mean for us? It means that knowing Jesus is the key to living a full, abundant life. It's about having a real relationship with Him, just like you have with your best friend. When we know Jesus, we can experience His love, power, and guidance in our lives.

Let's finish with a prayer: "Jesus, help us to truly know You and experience the full life You offer. Guide us as we navigate the challenges of being a teenager, and empower us to make a difference in the world for Your glory. Amen."
