SEASONS --- Spiritual Seasons

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

I. WHAT ARE A SEASONS? WE MUST LEARN TO DISCERN THE SEASONS?

The Hebrews knew about seasons and times...

The SEVENTH DAY... worship

The SIX ANNUAL FEAST

The DAY OF ATONEMENT... The high priest enters the Holy of Holies for sin...

The SABBATICAL YEAT... every seventh year

The YEAR OF JUBILEE... 49-50TH year, 7 times 7...

Matthew 16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring.

O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

A. Each year is divided into four division each year: spring, summer, autumn, winter...

Time of the year characterized by climatic conditions, ready, well-verse...

B. CAN WE DISCERN SPIRITUAL SEASONS?

DRY, WET, HOT, COLD, LAUGHTER, TEARS, PAIN, FEEL GOOD,

SOFT GENTLE RAIN, HARD BEATING RAIN...

C. THE NEW TESTAMENT IDENTIFIES THREE KINDS OF STORMS...

RAIN... small frequent

FLOOD... not as often, suggest where you build...

WIND... find safety, come out after the storm, survey damage, and re-build...

D. THERE ARE MANY DOOMEST IN THE CHURCH TODAY THAT PREDICT MANY DARK

ISSUES... MANY CRY THE SEASONS WILL GET ALL MESSED UP...

GOD HAS MANY PROMISES FOR HIS PEOPLE... BELIEVE THE PROMISE...

Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and

winter, and day and night shall not cease.

II. JESUS WENT THROUGH SEASONS... WE WILL GO THROUGH SEASONS...

SOMETIMES YOU WILL FEEL LIKE A NUT, SOMETIMES YOU DON'T...

A. Jesus went through a season of hard temptation.

Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led out into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to be tempted there by

the Devil.

1. "If you are the Son of God, change these stones into loaves of bread."

2. "If you are the Son of God, jump off!

3. Satan shows the nations of the world and all their glory. "I will give it all to you, if you will only

kneel down and worship me."

B. THE SEASON OF TEMPTATION PASSES BY, THE MINISTRY SEASON BEGINS...

Matthew 4:11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

C. AFTER THAT SEASON, YOU BETTER BELIEVE THE ENEMY CAME BACK WITH A VENGENCE!

III. WE HAVE A PROMISE OF DIVINE PROTECTION, AND OUR DELIVERANCE IS PROMISED ---

FOR OUR GOD PROVIDES A WAY OF ESCAPE...

A. THERE IS A GOLD KEY AVAILABLE TO EACH BELIEVER...

B. THE KING REQUIRES A FLOWER TO COME IN THE GATE TO THE WEDDING...

Some bring Morning Glories of judgmentalism.

Some bring poppies of superstition of the world...

Others bring the poisons of hemlock of self-righteousness...

A FEW APPROACH THE THRONE ROOM WITH THE ROSE OF SHARON AND THE LILY OF THE

VALLEY TO THE PEARL GATE...

THE GATE KEEPER WILL SWING WIDE THE GATES TO KNOW THE HOLY OF HOLIES...

1 Cor. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who

will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to

escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

IV. FEW PEOPLE EVER LEARN HOW TO TELL TIME, OR DISCERN THE SITUATIONS OF LIFE...

WE MUST LEARN TO REJOICE THROUGH EACH SEASON... AND TO DO GOOD...

Eccles. 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

[2] A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

[3] A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

[4] A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

[5] A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time

to refrain from embracing;

[6] A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

[7] A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

[8] A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Eccles. 3: [11] He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart,

so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

[12] I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
