One day the trees went out to anoint a king for themselves. They said to the olive tree, ‘Be our king.’

9 “But the olive tree answered, ‘Should I give up my oil, by which both gods and men are honored, to hold sway over the trees?’

10 “Next, the trees said to the fig tree, ‘Come and be our king.’

11 “But the fig tree replied, ‘Should I give up my fruit, so good and sweet, to hold sway over the trees?’

12 “Then the trees said to the vine, ‘Come and be our king.’

13 “But the vine answered, ‘Should I give up my wine, which cheers both gods and men, to hold sway over the trees?’

14 “Finally all the trees said to the thornbush, ‘Come and be our king.’

15 “The thornbush said to the trees, ‘If you really want to anoint me king over you, come and take refuge in my shade; but if not, then let fire come out of the thornbush and consume the cedars of Lebanon!’

Olive tree.

Bringing olive oil in to the temple

Reason for the light in the temple

Reason for the others to see

- but not willing to go to the next level of calling

Fig tree.

Sign of times – You are the sign of the time

Jesus is coming – you preach that very well

Your fruits will bring comfort to the other people – Jesus cursed a fig tree because there was no fruit.

- Not willing to go to the next level of calling.

Vine

Bringing Joy – to the people and king

As a believer you need to bring joy to people and God. Is your life bringing joy to other people or you just become parasite taking everything from others and not bringing joy to others.

Thorn bush-

Has no use, has no fruits, has no shade, has no taste,

But asking cedar to come under him..

You can see this thorn bush in the desert –

I saw this in Ethiopia even though there were drought in Africa this useless plant is there – it looks green but not useful for anything.

When cedar does not bring the will of God in its life bringing glory to the kingdom of God. The thorn bush will destroy cedar.

Churches glory is you and there is a calling of God in you.

When you come to God like Samuel here I am

When you listen like Jonah – the people will be blessed with your life.

Samuel went to anoint David as the King. God said do not look like people do, people looks to the outside but you wait until I speak to you. – Jesse brought everyone to his front – Samuel said any more children – God is looking for the David of today.
