Summary: A sermon advising on how to raise Godly kids according to biblical principles.

"I HAVE GOOD KIDS."

Genesis 18:18-20: Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him. For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”

Spiritual parenting is messy

Spiritual person does not make you a good parent…

CHILDREN LEARN DIRECTION FROM MY ACTIONS

Children begin life 100% dependent on us, grow to be 0% dependent on us.

Children begin life 0% dependent on God and should grow to be 100% dependent on God.

Deuteronomy 6:5-9: Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

CHILDREN NEED A HEART CHANGE

Deuteronomy 6:5-9 (MSG): Write these commandments that I've given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you . and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night

Ephesians 6:1-3: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” -which is the first commandment with a promise-“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

A CHILD'S LIFE DEPENDS ON OUR EFFORT

Ephesians 6:4: Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
