Summary: DELIGHT DURING HARD TIMES; WHEN I AM WEAK THEN I AM STRONG

When I Am Weak, Then I Am Strong

2 Corinthians 12:10

Paul says,

“For Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

This verse teaches us a powerful truth. Real strength does not come from ourselves. Real strength comes from God. When we feel weak, tired, or hurt, we learn to depend on Him. And when we depend on Him, His power works in our lives.

So what should we delight in?

1. Delight in His Word – Psalm 119:16

“I delight in your decrees.”

God’s Word gives us hope and direction. When we read the Bible, our hearts become strong. Even in hard times, His promises remind us that He is with us.

2. Delight in God’s Deliverance – 1 Samuel 2:1

Hannah rejoiced because God answered her prayer.

We too can rejoice because God saves, protects, and helps us. When God brings us through a problem, our joy grows stronger.

3. Delight in the House of God – Psalm 122:1

“I was glad when they said to me, Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

There is joy when we gather to worship. In God’s house we find peace, encouragement, and strength from other believers.

4. Delight to Live in Peace – Romans 12:16–18

Live in harmony with one another. As much as possible, live at peace with everyone.

When we choose peace instead of anger, God fills our hearts with calm and strength.

Think about a kite. A kite does not rise high when the air is still. It rises when strong wind blows against it. The wind that seems to push it down actually lifts it up.

In the same way, troubles may blow against us. Weakness, pain, and problems may come. But when we trust God, those very struggles lift us higher in faith. In our weakness, His strength carries us.

So let us delight in God, in His Word, in His house, and in living in peace.

Because when we are weak, then we are truly strong in Him.

Amen.
