I Believe there is a God

I Corinthians 8:6

But to us there is but One God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and One Lord Jesus Christ by whom are all things and we by him.

Intro:

Ephesians 4:4-6

There is 1 body, and 1 Spirit, even as ye are called in 1 hope of your calling. One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. One God and Father of all and through all and in you all.

1 John 5:7-8

For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the Water, and the blood: and these three agree in 1.

#1 WHY..... I know, that I know, that I know

Philippians 3:10

That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings,

~The reality of the power of Christ’s resurrection is in the Spirit (Rom. 1:4) To know and to experience, this power requires identification with Christ’s death and conformity to it

2Tim 1:12

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.

~This apostle believed not a thing or a matter but a living person, Christ the Son of the living God

Job 19:25

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.

#2 How do we know? We are saved by grace;

Ephesians 2:8

For by grace are ye saved through faith: & that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

~We are not saved by works, but by faith that works!

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

#3 Changed lives;

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ Jesus he is a new creature: old things have passed away: behold all things are become new.

~The word “old” in the Greek means original

~Passed away is a death term, meaning gone forever

~Verse 17 is confirming verse 16 saying, people would no longer know anyone according to the flesh, because anyone who is in Christ is a new creation, the old things of the flesh have passed away through the death of Christ, and all is become new in the Christ’s resurrection.

Romans 12:1

I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

~The writer is begging us to ‘present’ our bodies unto the Lord. Men are now to bring themselves to the Lord, not bring a sacrifice to Him

#4 Your testimony;

Psalms 107:2

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

Psalms 126:3

The Lord hath done great things for us; wherefore we are glad.

Rev 12:11

And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of there test. and they loved not there lives unto the death.

# 5 Because we have a home in heaven;

John 14:1-2

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God believe also in me. In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way you know.

~If He did not love us, He would not want us to be in Heaven with Him some glorious day

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words
