Summary: Let us study some vision problems. God’s people need to grow a productive vision. Don’t allow the enemy to steal your vision!

HOW IS YOUR VISIOIN?

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

Vision: revelation, manifestation of unseen, the power of imagination, foresight, discernment,

Visual problems:

We have in the church today spiritual blindness. Today one is considered legally blind if they

have 1/10 of normal vision.

Hyperopia --- far sightedness, can’t see today, but looks only to tomorrow;

Myopia, --- nearsightedness, --- can only see here right now;

Presbyopia, just plain short sightedness;

Amblyopia --- they can see with one eye, but the other eye is dim and they have trouble

judging distances.

Stratismus, which is an eye problem where the muscles of the eyes do not work together,

we call this crosseye, what usually happens is one eye pulls toward the nose.

Then there is tunnel vision where the peripheral vision is lost and one sees in extreme narrowness.

I. AFTER A TERRIBLE TIME OF HURT AND DESTRUCTION, THE DREAM AND THE VISION SHALL RETURN! THE DREAM SHALL BRING TO PASS. VISION RETURN HERE!

Joel 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm,

the caterpillar, and the palmer worm, my great army which I sent among you.

28. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh;

and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men dream dreams, your

young men shall see visions.

II. THE ROLE OF THE VISION IN THE CHURCH IS TO SEE BEYOND HERE, TO SEE BEYOND TODAY. VISION IS THE ART OF SEEING THINGS INVISIBLE.

JOEL 2: 32 And IT SHALL COME TO PASS, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.

III. THERE IS POWER IN A DREAM. WE NEED DREAMERS BACK IN THE CHURCH.

Genesis 37:19 And they said, (Joseph’s 10 brothers), one to another, BEHOLD THE DREAMER COMETH.

IV. OFTEN TIMES A DREAMER ABUSES HIS DREAM.

A DREAMER IS NOT ALWAYS APPRECIATED.

Joseph did not use wisdom as a dreamer. He was proud and boastful.

Joseph dreamed his Dad and brothers were going to come and bow at his feet.

The dream will be real, but Joseph should have had tact and wisdom instead of in your throwing his dream in their face.

V. A GOOD DREAM HAS A PREPARATION POWER. GET READY!

Remember a story that comes out of Egypt.

The King had a dream, no one could interpret the dream.

Joseph was remembered while he was forgotten in the jail.

The power of this one dream would forever change Joseph’s life, and this change

by a dream would support the people of God through hard, difficult times.

Genesis 41: 26- 27.

There were 7 big, fat cows; then 7 skinny cows, and the 7 skinny cows ate off the fat cows.

There was a second dream, 7 big, fat corn cobs, ---7 dry and skinny corn cobs.

The 7 skinny corn cobs fed on the 7 fat.

The dream was a preparational dream, 7 good years, then 7 years of drought,

Be ready, get prepared. The vision will sustain you through the dry times.

VI. LOOK AT THESE GENERAL IDEAS ABOUT VISION!

Every man tends to take the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world.

Cynic --- has faulty vision, he can only see things as they are, and he refuses to see things as

they should be.

We need to grow a special ability to have RE-VISION, the act of looking back with fresh eyes,

and enter old thoughts from a new critical direction.

HOPE IS AN AWAKING VISION OR DREAM! There is hope beyond our ability to dream.

Will we be a "DREAM TEAM?"

Young people dream of else where to be, mature people dream of home.

A good vision is a door of escape from the trap where we are into the realm of Divine possibilities,

a hope of better, a peace that there is more.

Men never plan to fail, they fail to plan.

They become trapped in the menial with no joy or expectation of better.

What do you do with a deferred dream?

God’s plan is for us to DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM, AND TO REACH THE UNREACHABLE STAR.

God has promised His people that where two or three gather together in Jesus’ name,

that God would hear and grant our request.

For we must have faith that the hand of God is our personal promise.

VII. WE MUST PROTECT OUR VISION ABILITY, LIFE WILL STEAL OUR DREAMS,THEREFORE WE MUST GUARD THEM. WE NEED A FIREWALL AROUND OUR DREAMING ABILITY.

The reality of daily menial --- domestic flunkyness of life --- will kill the dreamer in any person.

Man gets TIRED, DRAINED, WEAK, their patience worn out, weary to the point of quitting.

Old men are still to dream.
