How Far Are You Willing To Go To See Souls Saved?
Contributed by Terry Hensley on Nov 16, 2001 (message contributor)
Summary: There are many way to bring people to Jesus.
Mk. 16:15, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the
world, and preach the Gospel to every creature."
Lk. 14:23. "And the Lord said unto his servant, Go
out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to
come in, that my house may be filled."
But what can I do? I’m not a preacher, or Deacon, not
even a Sunday School Teacher.
1. "And it noised that he was in the house."
They went about sharing the testimony of the
miracles and the things that Jesus was doing,
and telling everyone that Jesus was there, and
if they needed healing, if they needed cleansing,
if they needed forgiveness, all they had to do
was come and see for themsleves, Jesus was
there. Use the example here of Jn. 4:1-30, "The
woman at the well, Come and see a man who told
me all things that ever I did." How long has it
been since you told someone about your church
services? How long has it been since you shared
Jesus with someone? How long has it been...?
2. "No room to recieve him."
Revival was breaking out, people were coming to
Jesus to hear the word of God, to see the lame
made to walk, the blind made to see,the Love of
God was being manifested in Capernaum. Jesus was
changing peoples’lives, people were coming to
the extent that there was not enough room for
them-they were in (Standing room only)!
How long has it been since you told someone
about your church services? How long has it been
since you shared your testimony with someone?
How long has it been...?
3. "They come unto Him bring one..."
Here we see four men that knew what Jesus could
do, here we see four men that knew what was
needed to be done to get this man sick of the
palsy healed, here we see four men who were
ready to do whatever it took to get this man to
Jesus! Here we see four men who had these
attributes, 1)Helpfulness:they were willing to
help others. 2)Co-operation:they were ready to
do whatever was needed in whatever position was
to be filled, because they felt that not one was
better than the other. 3)Personel Work: It took
four men to get one to Jesus. They didn’t argue
who was going to lead, they didn’t argue who was
going to take the front of the litter or the
back of the litter. They knew that it was going
to take all four of them to just get him there.
How long has it been since you told someone
about your Church services? How long has it been
since you shared your testimony with someone?
How long has it been...?
4. "They could not come nigh unto Him for the
press..."
Zealousness: They looked for a way to get this
man to Jesus, they tried but the crowd was too
big for them to get through, they came to a
place that looked like they couldn’t help him.
Perseverance: They didn’t give up, you can
almost hear them talking among themselves: There
has to be way...think!
They counted the Cost: This man’s healing or the
roof?
James 2:20, "Faith without works is dead.."
How long has it been since you told someone
about your Church services? How long has it been
since you shared your testimony with someone?
How long has it been...?
5. "When Jesus saw their faith..."
Victorious Faith: They believed if they could
just get him to Jesus. They had carried him all
of the way, they knew that the sick of the palsy
could walk back home, because they knew that
Jesus could do heal him!
Faith Honored: Because of their faith, Jesus
said unto the sick of the palsy, "Son, thy sins
be forgiven thee."
How long has it been since you told someone
about your Church services? How long has it been
since you shared your testimony with someone?
How long has it been...?
Conclusion:
Pr.29:18,
"Where there is no vision, the people perish."
