Summary: What do you have at the end of your rope? We have hope that is alive, our anchor, and our assurance. We need to tell others of our hope.

AT THE END OF THE ROPE, I HAVE HOPE.

Hand out ropes, and say, “When I am at the end of my rope, I have hope. When I am at the end of this, I have hope that is alive, anchored, and assured!”

Hope that is seen is not hope. Rom. 8:24

Hope that is alive. 1 Pet. 1:3

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressib le and full of glory, 9receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

Hope that is an anchor. Heb. 6:19

19This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

If an anchor is doing it’s job, can you see it? (behind the veil)

It is sure.

It is steadfast. Marriage, job, money, loss of a loved one, child, grieving over church

Hope with assurance! Jer. 29:11-14

11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.

How many of you feel like you are held captive? You may be saved, but you are still captive.

How many feel like God doesn’t hear you?

How may feel like God is angry, He has become your enemy?
