About Mark
  • Education: I have a bachelors and masters from Lincoln Memorial Un. I have a graduate degree from the University of Tennessee.
  • Experience: I have worked 16 years in the public school system. I have pastored for 10 years.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Please feel free to use my sermons and/or thoughts. What I have is not mine, it has been given from God,therefore it is yours as well. Take the axe head and put your handle in it!
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Sunday’s a comin’! It was Friday when they put Him in the tomb, when Peter was dealing with his failure, when Mary saw her son endure the worst death man could create, Mary M. saw her Savior die. It was Friday! Sunday’s a comin! You may be in your Friday, just remember, Sunday’s a comin!
  • Family: I have been married to Alice for 13 years. We have one son named Collier and another child on the way.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Keep it short and simple stupid- KISS; Provide a means and opportunity for everyone to learn. Some people learn auditorially, some learn kinestetically, some visually. Tapping into all three areas will enable you to have a better percentage/chance of developing a successful sermon.
  • Books that have had an impact: The majority of Max Lucado’s books have impacted my life.
  • Hobbies: I enjoy golf, fishing, watching baseball and reading.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: The grace of God is sufficient! Jesus is enough.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Gone home!
