HOOK, LINE AND SINKER, RESTORATION: TOTALLY ACCEPT GOD’S PLAN..

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes)

HAS LIFE BECOME SO HEAVY AND HARD YOU LOST SIGHT OF YOUR GOAL… CAN I RECOVER FROM THIS SHAME?

In the 1929 Rose Bowl Game University of California, Berkeley was playing Georgia Tech for the National Championship. There was a fumble. Number 11, a line man that had never carried the football in his career picked up the ball. The lineman was hit so hard he became confused. He ran the ball the wrong way. He ran for a touchdown that made his team lose the game. FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE HIS NICKNAME CHANGED TO “WRONG WAY ROY.” Wrong Way CRIED AND CRIED FOR WEEKS. His coach told him to quit crying and do something about it. The next year WRONG WAY WON THE AWARD OF ALL AMERICAN LINEMAN.

ROY “WRONG WAY” RIEGELS caused his team to lose the National Championship. WRONG WAY accepted his failure and put great effort in practice and listening to his coach. WRONG WAY used THIS LESSON to teach and become a motivational speaker. The rest of his life he traveled the USA to teach, you can overcome and recover from every setback you face.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES? You can bring back that which has been lost. The after can be better than the before. You can receive back more than you lost. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A CAR RESTORATION? GOD HAS A PLAN TO TOTALLY RESTORE ALL THAT THE ENEMY HAS TRIED TO STEAL, KILL AND DESTROY. THE PLAN IS TO RESTORE RELATIONSHIPS WITH GOD AND WITH MAN.

*Restore: renew, refresh, rejuvenate, to bring back, reinstate, to return, to give back, repair, remodel, to turn back, restitution.

DOES GOD HAVE A PLAN FOR US WHEN WE MESS UP? LET US ASK A SERIOUS QUESTION: SHALL I RECOVER ALL?

David messed up. When David left for war he never thought about leaving soldiers to protect the home front. His own men were thinking about killing him. David knew to seek God’s plan.

1 Samuel 30:8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

GOD HAS A PLAN EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE FAILED AND MADE A MESS: YES, YOU SHALL RECOVER ALL.

1 Samuel 30:18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.

HOOK, LINE AND SINKER. GOD WANTS US TO ACCEPT HE CAN CAUSE US TO RECOVER. GOD SAYS COMPLETELY TRUST HIS PLAN OF RESTORATION. WE HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS. GOD’S PLAN IS HE DESIRES TO GRAB AND KEEP OUR ATTENTION. THE FISH HOOK IS A SYMBOL OF PATIENCE, DETERMINATION AND HOPE.

Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

GOD UNDERSTANDS, HE DOES NOT SEARCH FOR PERFECTION. GOD HAS A PLAN OF RESTORATION, THE BEFORE AND AFTER.

To bring back that which has been lost. The after can be better than the before. Receive back more than you lost.

RESTORATION WILL ALWAYS MANIFEST ITSELF INTERNALLY BEFORE IT SHOWS EXTERNALLY.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things re become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT2) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun

DOUBLE IT? NO WAY? RESTORATION? DO YOU WANT TO LOOK LIKE A FAILURE? POOR OLD JOB’S OWN WIFE TOLD HIM TO CURSE GOD AND DIE.

When he prayed God restored his lost health, his family and his bank account.

Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Job 42:10 (MSG) After Job had interceded for his friends, GOD restored his fortune—and then doubled it!

Job 42:10 (ESV) And the LORD restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

HEAVINESS? TEARS? CRUSHED? HOPELESS? DOES IT APPEAR THAT WE CAN BE TRAPPED BY THE WEIGHT OF THIS LIFE?

HAVE WE LEARNED THAT OUR MENIAL DAILY LIFE HAS A TENDENCY TO DESTROY OUR POSITIVE ATTITUDES AND SAP THE VICTORY AND JOY OUT OF OUR HEARTS?

Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Psalm 51:12 (NLT2) Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.
