FATHER TO THE FATHERLESS
Psalms 68:1-5 1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
JAH or YAH from YHWH, YAHWEH or JEHOVAH. Is HIS HOLY NAME
HE is a father to the fatherless.
My children here today have their living earthly father. I am numbered with you who are "fatherless". BUT all of us can have a HEAVENLY FATHER. Today, we celebrate HIM.
2 Samuel 7:14
14 I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he sins, I will correct and discipline him with the rod, like any father would do.
1 Chronicles 17:13
13 I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my favor from him as I took it from the one who ruled before you.
In our Bible study, we understood these scriptures to then pertain to David about Solomon, but as we examined these scriptures further, we can understand that GOD says that HE will be the Father to HIS children, those called by HIS name, and treat HIS children as HIS own. Correcting them, but never forsaking them.
John 17:20-26 BBE. Jesus prays for the future believers. That's us!
20 My prayer is not for them only, but for all who will have faith in me through their word; 21 May they all be one! Even as you, Father, are in me and I am in you, so let them be in us, so that all men may come to have faith that you sent me. 22 And the glory which you have given to me I have given to them, so that they may be one even as we are one; 23 I in them, and you in me, so that they may be made completely one, and so that it may become clear to all men that you have sent me and that they are loved by you as I am loved by you. 24 Father, it is my desire that these whom you have given to me may be by my side where I am, so that they may see my glory which you have given to me, because you had love for me before the world came into being. 25 Father of righteousness, I have knowledge of you, though the world has not; and to these it is clear that you sent me; 26 And I have given to them knowledge of your name, and will give it, so that the love which you have for me may be in them and I in them.
John 17:24-26 KJV
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me:for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee:but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it:that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Jesus is praying, speaking to GOD THE FATHER before witnesses so that we might believe in The HEAVENLY FATHER and be One - in and with and by - HIM.
Galatians 4:1-7 1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
5-7 Jesus paid the price in full, redeeming us from the penalty of sin and death, SO THAT we could receive the adoption as children. So we could be claimed as GOD's children. To Prove this, HE put HIS HOLY SLIRIT in our hearts so that we could call our to the eternal GOD as our dear FATHER, Abba, Daddy.
