Summary: Our Lord Jesus Christ is wonderful in all His ways; and we should be especially reminded of that fact during this Christmas season.

Dr. James Dobson, Family News From Dr. James Dobson, December 2000.

C. He Has Power Over Sin.

Eph.1: 7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”

Rom.8: 3 “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:”

D. He Has Power Over Satan And His Evil Spirits.

Col.2: 14 “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly (‘to make a public spectacle of’), triumphing over them in it.”

III. IN HIS PRIESTHOOD

A. As Our High Priest He Offered The Perfect Sacrifice.

Heb.9: 14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

NOTE: Folks, we must be careful to never minimize the fact that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, gave Himself for us.

It is said that Cyrus, the founder of the Persian Empire, once had captured a prince and his family. When they came before him, the monarch asked the prisoner, “What will you give me if I release you?”

“The half of my wealth,” was his reply.

“And if I release your children?”

“Everything I possess.”

“And if I release your wife?”

“Your Majesty, I will give myself.”

Cyrus was so moved by his devotion that he freed them all. As they returned home, the prince said to his wife, “Wasn’t Cyrus a handsome man!”

With a look of deep love for her husband, she said to him, “I didn’t notice. I could only keep my eyes on you—the one who was willing to give himself for me.”

Unknown.

B. As Our High Priest He Intercedes For The Saints.

Heb.7: 25 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”

IV. IN HIS PREPARATION

A. He Has Prepared For Us A New Robe.

Rev.7: 9 “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;”

B. He Has Prepared For Us A New Routine.

I Thess.4: 17b “…so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

Rev.22: 5b “…and they shall reign forever and ever.”

C. He Has Prepared For Us A New Residence.

John 14: 2 “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

Rev.21: 2 “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
