Years ago, a friend of mine told us about the Sitar, a very popular Indian musical instrument. Although it can have up to 21 strings, the sitar player only plays one set of strings. The “playable” set has five to seven played strings.

The other set contains about 13 to 15 sympathetic strings of different lengths.

When the playable strings are played the sympathetic strings vibrate in tune with the played strings. This produces a very distinct vibrating sound.

This made me think of the scriptures.

Matthew 6:10-13 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 18:18 Amplified Bible

18 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth shall have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you lose [permit, declare lawful] on earth shall have [already] been loosed in heaven.

Greek interlinear

Truly I say to you how many if you shall bind on the earth shall have been bound in heaven and how many if you shall loose on the earth shall have been loosed in heaven.

In other words. If we come in line with how it is in heaven it shall be so on earth. Heaven is the playable string, and we are the sympathetic strings. First in heaven then on earth.

When we pray, we first look to see how it is in heaven, we then agree with heaven, and it shall be so on earth.

Heaven is the invisible, omnipresent realm of the spirit in which God dwells. It is the divine spiritual world! God’s presence fills the whole universe.

Wherever God is heaven is. There is no place where God is not. There is no place you can imagine on in the universe where God is not.

Psalm 139:7-12 I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

11 I could ask the darkness to hide me

and the light around me to become night—

12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.

To you the night shines as bright as day.

Darkness and light are the same to you.

Steven in the book of Acts 7:46-50 when he was about to be stoned said;

“David found favour with God and asked for the privilege of building a permanent Temple for the God of Jacob. 47 But it was Solomon who actually built it. 48 However, the Most High doesn’t live in temples made by human hands. As the prophet says,

49 ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.

In other words, the feet of the throne of God rests on the earth.

There is nowhere, where God is not, and wherever God is, is there is heaven.

God is there! He is everywhere because He is the Source, the Creator of all things. All is “of Him,” “out of Him,” and “in Him all things consist.”

The physical realm is superimposed with the spiritual realm.

We are surrounded not only by God’s Spirit, but by the spiritual world, by a great cloud of witnesses, by an innumerable company of angels, by the spirits of just men made perfect, and by principalities and powers in the celestial realms.

As born-again believers we realize that the spiritual realm is also inside of us. This was the mystery that was hidden for generations.

Colossians 1:27 to them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

This is where we make contact with heaven — within ourselves. When our spirit is quickened by His Spirit the heavenly realm is opened within us.

The more we walk with God and get to know our Father, the bolder we are to live in the most holy place of the spirit, resting upon the mercy seat, beneath the wings of the cherubim, in that perfect, full, holy and glorious place.

When you see heaven in the scripture just think of the realm of the spirit. Heaven is within each of us. You will never know the true heaven anywhere else until you discover it within you!

In the Bible, the symbolic term “earth” is used to represent the soul with all its emotions, intellect, and will.
