Years ago, a friend of mine told us about the Sitar, a very popular Indian musical instrument. Although it can have up to 21 strings, the sitar player only plays one set of strings. The “playable” set has five to seven played strings.
The other set contains about 13 to 15 sympathetic strings of different lengths.
When the playable strings are played the sympathetic strings vibrate in tune with the played strings. This produces a very distinct vibrating sound.
This made me think of the scriptures.
Matthew 6:10-13 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Matthew 18:18 Amplified Bible
18 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth shall have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you lose [permit, declare lawful] on earth shall have [already] been loosed in heaven.
Greek interlinear
Truly I say to you how many if you shall bind on the earth shall have been bound in heaven and how many if you shall loose on the earth shall have been loosed in heaven.
In other words. If we come in line with how it is in heaven it shall be so on earth. Heaven is the playable string, and we are the sympathetic strings. First in heaven then on earth.
When we pray, we first look to see how it is in heaven, we then agree with heaven, and it shall be so on earth.
Heaven is the invisible, omnipresent realm of the spirit in which God dwells. It is the divine spiritual world! God’s presence fills the whole universe.
Wherever God is heaven is. There is no place where God is not. There is no place you can imagine on in the universe where God is not.
Psalm 139:7-12 I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there.
9 If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
11 I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night—
12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you.
Steven in the book of Acts 7:46-50 when he was about to be stoned said;
“David found favour with God and asked for the privilege of building a permanent Temple for the God of Jacob. 47 But it was Solomon who actually built it. 48 However, the Most High doesn’t live in temples made by human hands. As the prophet says,
49 ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.
In other words, the feet of the throne of God rests on the earth.
There is nowhere, where God is not, and wherever God is, is there is heaven.
God is there! He is everywhere because He is the Source, the Creator of all things. All is “of Him,” “out of Him,” and “in Him all things consist.”
The physical realm is superimposed with the spiritual realm.
We are surrounded not only by God’s Spirit, but by the spiritual world, by a great cloud of witnesses, by an innumerable company of angels, by the spirits of just men made perfect, and by principalities and powers in the celestial realms.
As born-again believers we realize that the spiritual realm is also inside of us. This was the mystery that was hidden for generations.
Colossians 1:27 to them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
This is where we make contact with heaven — within ourselves. When our spirit is quickened by His Spirit the heavenly realm is opened within us.
The more we walk with God and get to know our Father, the bolder we are to live in the most holy place of the spirit, resting upon the mercy seat, beneath the wings of the cherubim, in that perfect, full, holy and glorious place.
When you see heaven in the scripture just think of the realm of the spirit. Heaven is within each of us. You will never know the true heaven anywhere else until you discover it within you!
In the Bible, the symbolic term “earth” is used to represent the soul with all its emotions, intellect, and will.
“Let the earth fear the Lord” (Ps. 33:8).
“All the earth shall worship Thee, and shall sing unto Thee; they shall sing to Thy name” (Ps. 66:4).
“O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord!” (Jer. 22:29).
The actual earth cannot fear the Lord, nor worship Him. Nor hear the word of the Lord, nor can earth sing unto the Lord. Clearly these scriptures refer to the souls of the people living on the earth. The soul of man has no ability in itself to manifest heaven on earth. For Heaven to be manifest on earth from within man we need the Holy Spirit. We need to be totally in tune with heaven in our hearts.
Romans 8:8-11 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. 9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) 10 And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
The Spirit of God works from within each one of us to overcome the worldly realm. As it is in heaven so it is within our lives. The world can never produce holiness. It is impossible to conquer and subdue the activities of the soul and the body by any effort that originates out of the earth realm.
Paul understood that in the flesh there is no way to overcome the ways of the earth.
Romans 7:21-25 I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. 22 I love God’s law with all my heart. 23 But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. 24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? 25 Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
King David tried in His own effort and ways to bring the ark of God to Jerusalem. Uzza died because in the flesh he steadied the ark. Then the ark stayed inside of Obed-edom’s house for three months. The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household. 2 Samuel 6:11
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Transformation originates inside of us, inside of our house. We have no power to either reform or transform ourselves! Only through the spirit, only by the power and authority out of heaven.
The throne of God is the place of mercy where all sin is forgiven. We are the tabernacle of God and the ark is inside of us. The throne of mercy is established in our hearts. “In mercy shall the throne be established.” Where? IN US! “And He shall sit upon it.” Where? IN US! “And He shall judge.” Where? IN US! “And He shall seek justice.” Where? IN US! “And He shall accelerate righteousness.” Where? IN US!
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
The tabernacle of God is with men. God’s redemptive effort is that finally He will be God whom men will see on earth, a God who will make earth to be one with heaven, where Jesus is Lord over all men and they, in Him, will live in the Kingdom of Heaven.
“For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Manifesting Heaven on earth. Vibrating the sounds of heaven through our lives. Amen
