I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my favor from him as I took it from the one who ruled before you.

I will confirm him as king over my house and my kingdom for all time, and his throne will be secure forever.’”

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Acknowledge the GOD of King David - Know more the GOD of Grace compared to GOD of Law

"And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately"

Jeremiah 9:24 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!

Galatians 6:14 (New King James Version)

But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Acknowledge GOD not yourself, everything in us are from GOD.

James 1:17 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

B. Serve GOD with wholehearted devotion

"Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind"

Ecclesiastes 5:7 (Amplified Bible)

For in a multitude of dreams there is futility and worthlessness, and ruin in a flood of words. But [reverently] fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is].

Revelation 22:9 (New King James Version)

Then he said to me, "See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God."

We worship GOD for who He is not on what He can do for us. We are not surprised by blessings upon blessings because if GOD is with us, we are blessed beyond measure.

C. Serve GOD with a willing mind

"Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind"

Exodus 3:12 (Amplified Bible)

God said, I will surely be with you; and this shall be the sign to you that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain [Horeb, or Sinai].

Daniel 3:17 (New International Version)

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king.

Ultimate purpose of every human beings on earth is to serve GOD not themselves. If we are men pleasers we will fail someday, but if we live to please GOD alone then we have done our purpose here on earth.

D. GOD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts

"For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought"

Luke 11:17 (New International Version)

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: "Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.

Isaiah 59:7 (New King James Version)

Their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; Wasting and destruction are in their paths.
