GUARD YOUR HEART, BEWARE OF THE PROBLEM OF THE HEART!

THIS IS A TWO PART LESSON, OR CONDENSE SOME OF THE MATERIAL.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good;

and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the

abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

I. COME LET US REASON ABOUT THE HEART...

A. The heart is a muscular organ in the middle of the chest. (Average 72 beats a minute.)

THE AVERAGE SIZE IS ABOUT THE SIZE OF YOUR HAND.

1. Pumps oxygen and nutrients from the lungs to the body.

2. The heart pumps metabolic waste from the body to exchange fresh.

B. There are 4 chambers in the human heart.

1. Upper right & left ATRIA

2. Upper right & left VENTRICLE

C. The heart is the greatest pump ever, it pulsates and moves blood through 15,000 miles

of the circulatory system.

D. The 4 chambers of the heart beat 100,000 times a day,

It moves 4,300 gallons of fluid each day.

E. The average LIFE SPAN OF A BLOOD CELL IS 120 DAYS...

IN THOSE 120 DAYS THE BLOOD CELL TAKES 75,000 TRIPS FROM THE HEART

TO THE BODY AND BACK.

Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works;

and that my soul knoweth right well.

II. Today the major cause of death in the USA is ABORTION.

HEART FAILURE IS THE #1 KILLER OF ADULTS...

Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are

coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

A. HEART TROUBLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE #1 KILLER OF HUMAN KIND.

There are COMMON SYMPTONS of heart trouble.

Up to 3/4 of death is blamed on HEART/STROKE...

1. HEAVINESS, chest pain...

2. IRREGULAR HEART BEART, palpitation...

3. PAIN, sharp pain, dull pain in chest shoulder, arms, neck, jaw...

4. DISORIENTATION, dizziness...

5. NAUSEA, vomiting, fever

B. THE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES THAT CAUSE HEART TROUBLE...

LET US COMPARE TO SPIRITUAL HEART TROUBLE...

1. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE...

Salt, stress, worry, job

2. HYPERTENSION: prolonged, over a period of time stress, worry.

3. IMPROPER DIET, salt, saturated fats,

High cholesterol 3x's great change of heart attacks.

Cigarette smoking 5x's greater change.

DIET: 1. FOOD

2. MIND (ATTITUDES)

3. SPIRITUAL DISORDERS.

4. LACK OF EXERCISE... flabby, soft muscles.

5. LACK OF PROPER REST/PEACE...

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find

rest unto your souls.

III. The Bible records the HEART as more than the four chambered pump in the middle

of the chest. The Bible's lesson record the HEART:

A. AS THE CENTER OF SPIRITUAL ACTIVITY.

B. The operation of human life.

C. The home of personal life.

D. The seat of the conscience, character

E. Heart and soul are often used interchangeably.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,

and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and

with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Mark 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with

all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than

all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

IV. WE NEED A CHANGE OF HEART, A TRANSPLANT OF THE NEW...

SALVATION BEGINS IN THE HEART.

A. ALL HUMAN BEINGS HAVE A HEART PROBLEM OF SIN...

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

B. YOU CAN KNOW THE POTENTIAL OF ANY UN-REGENERATED HEART?

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

C. PSALMS 51 IS THE GREATEST REPENTANCE CHAPTER IN THE BIBLE...

IT HAS SOME ISSUES ABOUT THE HEART...

Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

C. CLEAN MY HEART, RENEW A RIGHT SPIRIT

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
