John 14:12-14,16NKJ Greater
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
AMP. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father. 13And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son. 14[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM].16And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever--
TM The person who trusts me will not only do what I'm doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I've been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I'll do it. That's how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I'll do. 16. I will talk to the Father, and he'll provide you another Friend so that you will always have someone with you.
This world can only be converted by people who decide to do greater works. (Those who depend on the comforter.)
Here’s the question: “What greater works can be done?” The focus is on the spiritual running together with the physical.
Again, the Spirit clashing into the flesh will cause a HolyGhost explosion! (Jh.1:1)
The book of Acts constitutes the beginning of historical records of the impact the Spirit-empowered believer can have, and will have on this world as they believe.
Greater works such as: 1. The very shadow of Peter healed their diseases, Acts 5:15.
Diseases were cured, demons cast out, by applying to the persons handkerchiefs and aprons that had before touched the body of Paul, Acts 19:12.
By the word of Peter, Ananias and Sapphira were struck dead, Acts 5:5,9,
Elymas the sorcerer was struck blind by the word of Paul, Acts 13:11.
Christ only preached in Judea, and in that language on; but the apostles preached through the most of the then known world, and in all the languages of all countries.
However most, attribute greater works to greater in conversions.
Extraordinary results are rewarded to those who push past their limits!
Presently, as you’re touched and changed, they’re people all over the world being touched and changed through salvation.
Greater works! Such as John Wesley, Billy Sunday, Billy Graham, and Crane Eater Community Church! (When Jesus Christ ascended everything became greater!)
2 Corinthians 5:7KJ (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Remember, “Sight has to do with what you can see, but vision has to do with what you can be.” Faith and vision go hand and hand.
The fact is this, “the things you think upon, the things you speak, and the things you act on make you- you.”
Simply put: If you’re in Christ, you act like Christ! You’re fruitful, loving, concerned, filled with destiny, prayerful, because you’re anointed by Jesus Christ!
John 14:13-14AMP And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son. 14[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM].
Jesus isn’t saying for you to tack His name on the end of your prayer as some special formula. However It means:
1. The believer’s prayer should be based upon Jesus’ merits and worth- not ours.
2. The believer’s prayer should be in pursuit of Jesus’ glory alone!
Listen to Matthew 6:9-10KJ After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.10Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:9-10TM With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are. Set the world right; Do what's best— as above, so below.
