GOD's Grace Made Us Holy

Numbers 15:40 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God.

V. THESIS:

Even our obedience and holiness is GOD's gift to us therefore all we need to do is accept the gift and thank GOD.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. GOD's Words will help us remember

1. Remember came from Hebrew word: zaw-kar meaning be mindful, earnestly, burn, record

a. CHRIST came as a servant: (Romans 15:8)

Romans 15:8 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Remember that Christ came as a servant to the Jews to show that God is true to the promises he made to their ancestors.

b. CHRIST was raised up from the dead. (2 Timothy 2:8)

2 Timothy 2:8 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Always remember that Jesus Christ, a descendant of King David, was raised from the dead. This is the Good News I preach.

c. CHRIST will bring great reward to us. (Hebrews 10:35)

Hebrews 10:35 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!

d. Remember that GOD is treating us as His own children. (Hebrews 12:7)

Hebrews 12:7 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father?

e. Remember that GOD has no favorites. (1 Peter 1:17)

1 Peter 1:17 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during your time as “foreigners in the land.”

B. Obedience and Holiness to our GOD

1. Give our bodies to GOD. (Romans 12:1)

Romans 12:1 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice — the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

2. Even before the world, CHRIST made us holy and without fault (Ephesians 1:4)

Ephesians 1:4 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.

3. Grace and Peace is already in us. (Colossians 1:2)

Colossians 1:2 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

We are writing to God’s holy people in the city of Colosse, who are faithful brothers and sisters in Christ. May God our Father give you grace and peace.

4. Our calling is a holy calling. (1 Thessalonians 4:7)

1 Thessalonians 4:7 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives.

5. Like Father, Like son. (1 Peter 1:15-16)

1 Peter 1:15-16 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.

For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

IX. CONCLUSION:

Even our obedience and holiness is GOD's gift to us therefore all we need to do is accept the gift and thank GOD. Nothing we can do to make us more holy and more obedient because GOD has already made us one.
